Sinner sweeps Shelton in 3 sets.

Djokovic advances after Musetti has to retire from injury while being up 2 sets to 0.

Pegula beats Anisimova & Rybakina takes out Swiatek.

Mens Semi-Finals:

Alcaraz vs. Zverez

Sinner vs. Djokovic

Womens Semi-Finals:

Sabalenka vs. Svitolina

Pegula vs. Rybakina

Watching Djokovic lose always brings me joy, even if it going to be at the hands of Sinner.

I see no way he beats Sinner with that massive blister. It's not fatigue, for which he could get an IV and sleep. It's not a tweaked muscle that could feel better tomorrow or could be iced and heated. Maybe they'll apply some sort of local anesthetic, but I don't know how you could win two professional tennis matches when a third of your foot is numb

Djokovic gets a walkover from Mensik, then is down 2 sets to 0 vs. Musetti and Musetti retires with an injury. His toughest match was against the #75 in the world and now he's in the semifinals.

That might be an all time cakewalk to the SF of a grand slam.

Agree...and I am not a Djokovic fan but I do watch him play due to his greatness. I did appreciate his comments after his win by forfeit. Maybe stating the obvious but he clearly expressed that he understood his good fortune.

I did not think Novak would be able to beat Sinner or Alcaraz at this point in his career, let alone in 5 sets. This man is an absolute machine and the undeniable GOAT.
Great performance from him.

Sinner going 2/19 on break points was the match. He had his chances and either missed them, or Novak took them away.

Djokovic getting a walkover in the R16 and an early 3rd set retirement in the QF so he could be fresh for this match was huge.

It's been a really weird Australian Open. Sinner in the 3rd round, Djokovic in the QF and Carlos last night all looked down at out at one but hung on by the skin of their teeth.

Could be a sluggish match in the finals for both guys.

I was wrong too, and all credit to Djokovic. The only thing I'll say is it's crazy what a mental edge he still has on pretty much everyone on tour not named Alcaraz. @Letterkenny summary is spot-on, but, like, how are you 2/19 on break points?!?! I honestly don't believe Sinner would've been so ineffective against a single other player. Maybe Djokovic really is as good as he was two, three years ago, as some on other social media are saying. Personally, I think he's just gotten even better than he always has been at picking his spots—recognizing and capitalizing when the top guys don't step on his throat—which in turn demoralizes them, even if they have gas in the tank

His serve improvement from early in his career to current day is remarkable. It's biggest reason imo he's been able to remain a contender past few years.

Carlos is the favorite in the final but Sinner is actually more difficult challenge of the 2 to Djokovic imo.

I would agree. Sinner at his best grinds you into powder from the baseline. The variance Alcaraz plays with sometimes results in him choosing the “wrong” shot during a point he’s controlling. But, he’s like hitting against a wall—which I think is what has given Djokovic trouble against him in the past—and he’s also capable of doing a 180 even within games when his opponent seems to be in total control

Anyone crazy enough to watch the whole match? I woke up at 4:00 and turned it on.

Alcaraz is on an insane pace now with 7 grand slams before turning 23. Tied with Johnny Mac.
