Special teams didn’t throw the ball and cough it up to the Iowa defense. Our offense was compete ******* once again.

Strongly disagree. Those turnovers don’t happen with an offense that’s clearly frustrated with the cards they’re being dealt.

Offense is extremely predictable and the playmakers have been exposed because the offensive play calling hasn’t evolved with them. Not sure what else I can come up with

Special teams still blows… three guys back to field a punt and it still rolls like 30 yards??

So much for this impressive strength coach changing everything. We are getting out worke
Gaining weight/muscle does not mean being a better player.

Now we’re stiff and slow on offense.

This isn't a me being pissed off so I started another thread, thread. I'm looking for real answers.

How are we so bad in so many areas? No wr gets separation. TEs absent. Offensive line got no pushe. The amount of tip of balls that led to TOs, etc.

We played 90% of the game on our own half.

Defense was great. Offense was, all things considered, the worst performance, I can remember.

With these players, with this experience, HOW does this happen?

ISU has a great defensive coordinator, and an average, at best, offensive coordinator.

The DC knows how to run the unit and manage his position coaches so that they help the players improve.

The OC, on the other hand, is not so good at that. Players don't really get much better on the offense, they just seem to chug along with the athletic ability they come with. Offensive game plans are often inadequate.

It's been that way since Campbell's second year. Those things highlighted above have hurt ISU's offense for the last several years. It looks like it will be another year of a CCG/CFP-caliber defense, and an offense that ultimately holds the team back. I really hope Manning can reverse course, because it is just shame to waste these great defenses

We dominated them. And list by 2 scores. Enough said.

They are VERY well coached. We aren’t winning in any margins. That’s the difference.

I now question whether Manning is that bad, or Brock just isn’t executing. Honestly I didn’t mind the play calling today. The execution was piss poor. I mean, it’s self evident.

Brocks a baller and never gives up, but he’s looking increasingly limited. I know everyone says “just roll him out every play”, but why the hell can’t he see the field otherwise? He doesn’t throw guys open either.

the O line looked pretty good IMO. Let’s not forget Iowa has an outstanding defense. Outside his fumble, Breece looked good. Brock (rb) looked really good. I honestly dont know if the receivers looked good because I can’t see the whole field on tv.

our D was fantastic again as always.

We don't prepare for September. It's pathetic.
Offense has no identity right now. It’s flailing runs up the middle where we hope for 3. Some decent plays to kolar through the middle, a WR room that has to be one of the worst in the big 12 at the moment. Our defense is championship level, goodsen getting 50 yards (or less?) on 20 carries is wild

I think special teams is the difference, always has been. We keep starting in ******* field position because we can’t return punts for some goddamn reason.

Attention to special teams obviously is lowest priority for this coach. Occasionally there are bright spots, but overall it's poor if you have a "win in the margins" philosophy. It becomes glaring when facing an opponent that has long history of field position/kicking/punting emphasis.

Punting and punt returns are lowest priority of all. It's clearly an afterthought.

I really want to know why we didn't try to block the punt when ISU had them pinned deep in their territory? We didn't try to return it. Hell, we didn't even catch the ball and let it bounce inside the 20 and everything went to hell after that.

I guess I expected more from our offense this year that has no scored 16 points against UNI and ten real points against Iowa. No idea why we stay with our offensive coaches when clearly our offense is terrible every single year and we have really good talent. It’s disappointing

Lack of separation from our WRs is a constant topic. Watch Milton's route on his TD. He runs right to a defender in the endzone and stands there for a second before breaking off. Why would you just run right to a defensive player? Maybe the defender was right where Milton was supposed to go on his route, but I just thought it was weird to see. Maybe we can demote Manning to just being a TE coach, Nate coach RBs, and bring in a new OC that can coach WRs and teach them to run routes.

Also need a special teams coach BAD.

Purdy was really bad today. Plus our receivers weren't sharp. Defense is A+ rating though. Complete tragedy what the offense did today to our defense. Also, Kolar and Hall clearly aren't 100%. Lastly, Campbell needs to figure this **** out. This early season ******** is unacceptable.

Thank God I was out of town and unable to watch. Since all want to blame coaches, how about the so called strength coach getting our players too fat and slow to operate effectively?

It's a frustrating thing ... if the general philosophy is to set up punt return on most kicks, of course you'd trade trying for a punt-block vs. getting back to set up the return. But we almost always fair-catch anyway (or, in some cases, stumble away from a fair catch and let the ball go 20 yards downfield) ... so when punt team is backed up inside the 10, bring a rush. If punter gets it away, fair catch is still an option.

I don't think that's a problem, if you follow that logic why doesn't the defense suck from being to fat and slow?
