Haha! Jason is from my HS, Great guy! Was a Grey Shirt who ended up starting for Dr. Tom because he busted his *** and didn't turn the ball over. Aaron Kampman was also a GREAT guy. My HS had a pretty big rivalry with AP at the time, but he was literally one of the nicest guy you'd ever meet. I graduated the same year as him and played B-Ball and ran track against him. I remember running the 4x200m with him running the same leg as me. I could never quite understand how a guy that big was running a 200m sprint!

I think we are of the same vintage! That was a fun era!

Going off the record......Drew Tate. Many people say he was a ****, but I liked watching him play and liked the fire he played with. I also thought his visor was the coolest thing

I worked with his brother back in the day....he certainly was a "hot head" (his brother shared that's what he was like in the past)...but it was cool, when I got married, he gave me an autographed photo that said, "Sorry your son in law is a Cyclone"

Pat Angerer for me. I was in the U of I hospitals for a couple months and in the same unit as his niece. He would stop up and see her about every weekend with his wife. All of us in the unit would play cards/dice to pass the time and he would jump in on a few hands with us. Couldn't be nicer and really cared about the kids.

Like others have said, Angerer had some classic qoutes when he was at UI as well. Made me laugh out loud a couple times.

Couldn't go with any player so I had to go with a coach- Iowa State alum Dan Gable. Easily the biggest winner in any sport ever at Iowa.

Is increasing yield really helping family farmers? Do you know what you are talking about? This isn't shallow wonk economics....this is about FAMILY farmers...stewards of the land and folks raising families.....not absentee land owners and getting another quarter pound of hog out of the same amount of feed, antibiotics, and energy in the corporate confinement. Don't be Hating....I just think Hayden--despite being our arch enemy for all those years....deserves respect and I think he respected the agricultural communities. America needs farmers bro.

ISU Extension alone has done about 100 times more for farmers than people think Hayden did.

My favorite coach is Todd Lickliter followed closely by George Raveling. Is George dead? Iowa, you need George Raveling back!

My favorite player is Woodbury. My favorite play is inbounding the ball off Woodbury’s back. I hope they allow Woodberry to play for 6 years.

Oh! The O.P. used the word respect…I got nutten.

The trio of Gary Barta, Kirk Ferentz and Fran McCaffery. I really like the direction they are taking the Iowa athletic program.

Dan Gable and Rico Chipparelli. Dan Gable just because I loved wrestling growing up. Rico because he was my favorite wrestler back in the day. I think Rico was also my first-ever autograph.
