A couple of drops even on that final drive, too - one would have been a tough catch but the other was a gimmie.
Surprisingly the weather messed Purdy’s game from the start. He wasn’t gripping the ball right.
Agreed. I had a similar conversation regarding Ryan Day at Ohio State as some feel he is on the hot seat. I pointed out he was just a kick away from going to the title game last year (and likely would had won). Kicker makes the kick, he’s not on the “hot seat”.
While Purdy didn’t have his greatest game by any means, he still put the team in position to win the game. That’s all you could ask from your QB in a two minute drill
SF next plays at Minnesota on Monday night football. Great opportunity for Purdy to show the country he is a great QB and not because of the system
They had multiple drops earlier in the game too. Ayiuk was the main culprit I believe which was weird.
I just saw the extra coverage on fox, and just from that they couldn’t protect him and the wr’s were struggling to get open. They need the Deebo and McCaffery injuries to be minor.
Imagine if Purdy threw 3 picks and failed to get his team in field goal range for an easy game winner like Jalen Hurts just did
All haters will say “I told you so”. Brock played in a bad weather. He didn’t play well but he didn’t lose the game like Jalen Hurt just did. Brock at least had given his team about 80% chance to win. No one expected Moody to miss 41 yard FG. BTW, haters will count couple of almost interceptions against Purdy. How many almost interceptions did Hurt had today? I counted several.

The “almost interception” people are morons. Nobody’s out there assigning “almost touchdowns” which is the same thing. That’s just how football is, there are “almost lost fumbles”, “almost safeties”, “almost sacks”, ”almost missed extra points”, everything. Even Montgomery almost lost a fumble today.
