Is anyone else a little worried ISU might not have 25 commits or signings on national signing day? I'm sure the next week will be very exciting and everything but according to CR ISU still has only 18 verbals. I'm sure the coaching staff is hiding 1 or 2 but does anything think we'll have any major suprises? Who does everything think we'll get or have a good shot at getting?

There are several others that are in the bag and a bunch more that are still being worked on. The only reason you aren't seeing the additional names on the list is because all of us involved have been asked not to let any info get out. There have been numerous cases already this year where recruits have been stolen from us only because info got out about the recruits and other schools came in after the fact. You'll start seeing more info in a couple days but I for one am following through on the request not to leak anything until signing day and I know others are so far following the request as well.

Jeremy, you are a man of integrity. I agree we will see some quality recruits coming to Iowa State. In fact, with some schools getting too many recruits on the hook, there may be some late opportunities to get some good players. This is a high stakes poker game.

That's good that we have plenty in the bag then. Maybe next year nobody should post anything so ISU doesn't get anybody stolen from them or anything like that. I'll Coach Chizik has had his fair share of migraines after his first two recruiting seasons at ISU. haha

I think chizik is trying to assemble the greatest named class of all-time, thats why he showed guys named jared edwards and josh jordan the door...so we can fill them with guys named stephen ruempolhamer and blake mcjunkin....to go along with guys like hammerschmidt, lonzie, darius darks etc. hahahaha

we will have no problem filling all 25 offers... recently i think the staff has kept recruiting on the down low due to the volume of decommits and we will get some very pleasant suprises on signing day

As long as we can keep Leonard Johnson,Terran Benton, darius darks, dustin land, and Jason carlson. Ill be ok but we need about 7-8 more commits but the chances of that don't look good

If that's the case then we 100% need somebody named McLovin on the team from Hawaii!!!!!

Maybe Chizik got tired of reading the "guess the new commit" threads that have been on here the last couple months!

I suspect the coaching staff has been so busy working on the Plane on a Treadmill issue that they haven't had time to reveal recruits to the media.

Who are these recruits we lost because of info being leaked??

Agreed, I think it is an excuse.

So apparently only ISU recruiting (and CF) have any threads in this whole country regarding recruiting. Rich Rodriguez is not worried about his lawsuit with WV, he is actually worried about who ISU is recruiting. Come on everyone, there is lots of recruiting info out there, seems kind of arrogant to think this is the reason recruits are decommiting.

Well I never said it had anything to do with CF but the staff has documented several instances where other media outlets reported on visits and such of recruits and then the following day the recruit's phone rings off the hook with other schools that hadn't previously heard of the kid or at the very least given him much interest. There have been several this year where coaches, especially those in their first year at the schools, have started using online resources almost exclusively to track other school's recruiting to "poach from".

I understand you may think it's an excuse but when you start to realize the way things have changed and how integral the internet is to everything, you'll start believing that it can happen and has happened to ISU, numerous times. If this isn't the case, why do you think all of us would be silent at the same time when there is big news to report? It's not because we don't think people are interested in the info.

Well I believe almost all the coaches interviewed this year have stated how much the internet has played a huge role, or impacted the university far more than it ever has. It's no sercret and is really unfortunate, but its no different than those gossip magazines.

And those darn "bowl" games that have recruits making announcements and acting like a hollywood stars to me shows no respect for maybe one of the most important decision these kids make in their lives.

Jeremy,

Can you give an example or two of this happening? Just a couple of examples would be great. Thanks

Dude, it's not hard to guess.

Or did you think that East Carolina had heard of Josh Jordan in small town Louisiana?

Was it a sheer coincidence that the moment Joe King was supposed to have comitted that Texas Tech jumped in?

Leonard Johnson is listed as a commit--then Michigan wants a visit?

Jared Edwards is listed as an undersized offensive lineman--then when his mom says online that he's strictly a defensive end--Georgia Tech calls?

Would you like me to include David Grant? The list goes on...
