Crazy game, crazy second half.

I love the "mercy" call from Brent, but also love Fran's "here they come Brent" when the crowd gets into it after we hit a shot to be down by TWELVE.

Brent and Fran were cheering so hard for that comeback on the air and they got what they wanted.

I was traveling for work. Landed at MSP at half. We're getting killed, that sucks. Get the rental car and am listening on my phone. Can't believe I didn't get a speeding ticket on the way to the hotel.

That might not have been the loudest single moment inside Hilton that I’ve seen, but the duration of the loudness and energy of the crowd throughout the second half of that game was spectacular.
The loudest moment for me was Naz's long 3 vs Okie St for overtime.

Oklahoma players slapping the Hilton floor after scoring and on their way back for defense had me incensed. So glad Hilton slapped back

The two loudest times that come to mind for me would be that shot by Naz you mentioned, or the 2004 game against Texas. ISU was up by 1 point and Brian Boddicker had two free throws at the end that could have won it for Texas. The place was super loud as he missed both shots.

I forgot that was quite so late in the season. Things were going so badly that game. I actually did think to myself at the time of that technical, probably more wishfully than anything, that it might be the spark we need to mount a comeback Two timeouts and OU couldn't even settle themselves.

11 days later was that epic Spangler miss in the Big 12 semis.
Without looking it up, OU had recently torched ISU in Norman, too, and it really seemed like the wheels were starting to come off. Arguably, they were, but this through KC was incredible to watch.

That season was something else - you would never feel like they were out of it. Even when Niang scored and gets fouled to make it a 16 point deficit, everybody who knew that team thought “Here it goes. We’ll be back in it.” Fraschilla’s commentary is really good to highlight the offensive explosiveness of that group. They ended the season (before UAB…) on some insane streak of 10+ point comeback wins.

Was that the year we went down by double digits every game in the Big 12 tourney but still won it?

For me it was the Iowa game when Gessel was at the FT line. Whole building felt like it was shaking.

Everything to that point had gone wrong, but with that team you just knew once they finally got it going it was on. Where else have you ever seen a home crowd go crazy when they cut a lead to 16?

I thought I was going to get banned in the game thread. I didn't post during the game but when I came home I typed something about the floor slapping that I was sure it would be auto starred it was not LOL. The mods were benevolent that night.

That was an awesome game. Crowd was dead when we got down big but the place got loud in a hurry as we chipped away at it.

Some of the games they have selected for the 75 year anniversary of Hilton clips on the scoreboard I'm not certain some of them were the best choices when you think of big games or Hilton Magic against the opponent. The one against Texas I thought they really missed on what I think may be the loudest moment I have ever heard in Hilton which was the "Fizer over Mihm" game. That's still one of the biggest games against Texas that I can remember at Hilton.

Everyone in the place was jumping out of their seats at the time and it was that game that basically showed the country that we were a legit contender. The 2nd loudest time I can remember Hilton was the Iowa game that same season when we started off on some crazy run like 13-2 or something and Iowa calls a timeout to try and stop it. Mike Nurse had his hands over his ears as he was heading to the bench as it was so loud.
