I was in English 104 above the lobby of MWL. Class was dismissed and my roommate and I watched news coverage in our dorm room in Willow for the rest of the day/night.
The day started off strangely from the start. We got up that morning and found our dog could not walk on one paw. I took the morning off work and dropped him at the vet.Where were you, what were you doing?
Also it's sickening that they can show people jumping out of windows on the History Channel. I mean, I saw it live...I dont really need to see it again.
I remember this too. I had gone to Hy-Vee in the early evening for something else, but I also needed gas. I saw the huge lines at the gas station and I was like hmmm, maybe these people know something I don't. And I figured I'd better fill up while I had the chance. That's another thing I remember about that day, the long lines at the gas station. Specifically, how I actually really needed gas and was stuck in an hour long line at the Lincoln Way and Dakota Kum and Go behind all the morons who were freaking out. I don't remember too bad of price gouging, but I'm sure some was being done in Ames that day.
4th grade...dont remember to much other than my social studies teacher turning it on the tv.
at work, 30 years old at the time (trying to date myself), could look out my window on Collins Rd in Cedar Rapids. was a a ghost town.
