Yeah, but that's point, right? They don't care at all about butts in seats. They're trying to get more TV audience, correct?

It's all realignment bullsh#t. Of course, in a sane world everyone can agree that 0900 kickoff is stupid AF. God I f#cking hate what realignment has done to CFB.

With he current television structure the networks would just be adding more inventory and little value. If this ends up being a streaming network type setup the Pac 12 will actually be worse off. They already have the west coast eyeballs but you aren't going to gain viewership in the rest of the country by moving to the early kickoffs.

Same. And the older I get the tougher it is to stay awake for the west coast games. I've never been much of a night owl anyway but for a game that starts at 9 CST or later I'm lucky to catch the beginning, let alone the whole thing.

I LOVE being (s)pacific time zone... Wake up at a normal time and see the east coast games, jump into our stuff then I can see all the Pac 10 "football" and be in bed with no impact to my early sleep schedule. AND we can smoke pot! And you can camp on the streets and defecate wherever you want apparently based on past experiences in some west coast cities...

Just not on the rug, man.

And TV windows and all the commercial breaks (and the money that goes with it, of course) have made it generally less enjoyable to attend games no matter what the time zone. Probably the best game time for fans is 1:00 p.m., and that was the start time (or 1:30) for college football for decades.

But I enjoy seeing all away games on TV, and I remember the dark days of almost no Cyclone games on TV quite well.

If there were one thing about games i could change it would be to make more of the east-coast B10, SEC, and ACC teams take the early slot we already have. Those games in the eastern time zone are already at noon, which is better than an 11am (or 9 or 10) game.

many of u are not thinking about the your gambling app (will be legal in iowa) calling for you to bet on some pac after dark. ur down and u want to win it back before nfl tomorrow. bam. pac after dark is here for u

Yes chasing after wins when you're down and probably have been drinking all day is a great gambling strategy, almost always works out.

Living in Arizona I would hate this. Not because of the time of the games (I am already up by then watching games anyway), but because I like to watch the Cyclones then head out to the ASU games later in the day. I also enjoy that there are games from the time I wake up until I go to bed. If they do this then the games will be over earlier. Right now they end around 10 -11 pm for me.

I can see why they'd want to get games on early. But the problem with 11am CST is that there's a ton of competition. You get a bunch of B10, B12, ACC games in that time slot. Sure, more people will be watching FB, but how many more will be actually watching P12 games?

I love the P12 after dark. Just when you think the football day is over, you look and there's a P12 game starting at 10. Awesome.

Mentioned in another thread but that night cap is a great way to end an all day buffet of college football.

This would further erode the conference. Players do not want to play at 9 - 10 AM. 11 AM kickoffs are bad enough in the Central TZ.

I doubt the PAC will get rid of the night cap game. I think this is a play to get more viewers for lesser viewed games during time slots with less competition. Like how the Mountain West plays games during week 0 of the season. I actually watch a lot of G-5 teams that I never would have otherwise because it’s the only games on during week 0. I may switch back and forth from pre-game shows to the early PAC game during commercials. The PAC will ever compete with the other P5’s for viewers, so they are better off working around them. I also agree with an earlier post pointing out that it may provide the pregame shows something else to talk about besides Alabama, Ohio St., and how dominant the SEC is...who am I kidding that won’t happen.
As others have said though, they’d be playing at 9 a.m. pst, or 11 a.m. central time. They wouldn’t be playing during the pregame shows and wouldn’t be working around the other conferences. They would be going head to head with them.

Also, this plan logistically makes no sense. You need your gameday employees there and ready to go several hours ahead of time. So they’re expecting a bunch of college kids to be there at 5:30-6:00 a.m. ready to work? That sounds like a great plan.

Some truth to this. China is all a single time zone. Europe is one time zone. USA could be reconfigured to make three zones.

Has anybody told the Europeans that? I'm pretty sure they are under the impression they have 3 (maybe 4).

sorta. From France to Poland is one time zone. England/Ireland is an hour behind and Ukraine and Romania an hour ahead.
