Yes, they are in the market to get listeners not to be correct. Didn't is say some where that Miller wasn't comfortable putting it up?

Very true and yes, at least at first Miller was not comfortable. He said he was swayed.

Of course he did - the point is that the cat was all ready out of the bag by then. If this had first been "reported" on Perraults show, and it was on his website, I'd be a little more skeptical. I'm willing to give guys like Jon and Steve a little more rope, because they seem like the type would do their due diligence before going on the record.

As I've stated a few times in this thread, to me it was Matt finding a negative story on Pollard and beating it to death. I find that to be a little childish and I think quite a few Cyclone fans were turned off by it (and the show)

I'm not disagreeing with you on that, I'm saying that Matt didn't "break" the story. He just did....what he does.

He did throw it up on here though, then I think he got ****** when the reaction he got was not what he wanted.

And the story most likely isn't even true... good reporting...

Well then everyone at KXNO is culpable if this turns out to be a well orchestrated fake. All three of their local shows talked about it. Perrault gets singled out here (and rightly so) because of vendetta against Jamie and the way he presents his arguements, which is akin to a 12 year old girl.

The tone of the local shows regarding the ISU men's bball program has gotten increasingly more hostile over the past few days. On my morning and afternoon commutes I have found myself staring at the radio with my mouth open over some of the things M/D and M/M have been saying. I find it amazing that they think they have a leg up on what ISU fans "think" when not one of them is one of us. Sure, we're all frustrated by the lack of success we've had, but as for me, I'll be damned if a couple of carpetbagger radio hosts, an avarastic Meeeeeeeeeeeeechigan fan, and an unapoligetic hawkeye homer are going to tell ME what I should think. They seem to think that they are leading some kind of mob in their jihad against ADJP, but in my opinion, they are just ****** that ADJP doesn't recognize them as privileged citizens that should be privy to what is going on inside ISU athletics.

I'm pretty sure that M/D have said numerous times that they are not telling people how to spend their time or their money.

And what exactly have M/D been saying that isn't right on the money in terms of the ISU (or Iowa for that matter) MBB program? As for M/M who knows. I haven't listened to them since football season.

They tell us how to spend our money all the time. They constantly talk about "voting with your checkbook" and how buying tickets and supporting the team financially will never lead to change. They take the opposite track that ADJP supposedly did, but they are still telling us how to spend our money. They soft-pedal the Iowa program by not making "he'll probably screw up in the off-season" comments like they do against ISU players. They go after Pollard because he is out there making statements about the program, unlike Gary "Silent Bob" Barta. I highly doubt that if Barta opened his mouth to publicly and unequivocally support Lickliter that M/D would be jumping down his throat like they do to Pollard. The only reason they are beating the ISU horse right now is that ISU fans give a crap about their program.

I see. I understand your point about innocent until proven guilty but if players aren't allowed to be why should the people that actually get paid be allowed to be? Like it or not when you sign up for a job like that, innocent until proven guilty doesn't apply (in terms of consequences, not in terms of legality)

I am confused by this statement.

You don't think that if it was a fake that something wouldn't have been said by this point? If it's a fake, Pollard and/or the ISU athletic department could sue KXNO for defamation, libel, or slander couldn't they?

Sue for what? There is no libel, no slander here. And what would Pollard's damages be?

My beef is that KXNO ran the email without a shred of evidence that it was real. Someone said Ken Miller tried to email Pollard, but Pollard didn't respond. So, hold it until you get confirmation instead of taking the chicken **** attitude of "We'll post it and then it will be up to Pollard to confirm or deny it.

Plus, I want this thread to reach 1,000 posts. (;0)

The tone is definitely a bit harsh, and I think Pollard has come off as a bit on-edge this week (maybe because he's had to make a decision he didn't want to make).

That said, I agree with much of what he said. Fact of the matter is money buys you a voice. Right or wrong, that's the way it is. I donate and buy tickets, but I don't expect my opinion to matter at all compared to someone who donates 6 figures. It's called reality.

If some dude from Urbandale is passionate enough to e-mail the athletic director, why isn't he passionate enough to fork over some dough for tickets or a Cyclone Club donation? It's like someone who isn't an investor e-mailing the Board of Directors and expecting them to give a damn about his opinion.

For the record, I'm not sure this same argument applies to out-of-staters, although they can still donate to the Cyclone Club without attending games.

Money is not the answer as Mac gets paid enough. While this guy perhaps has never invested in ISU, you don't have to be a stock holder to care about the product. Money is a coward's way to complain why things are not acceptable. IF this guy wins the 50,000,000 lottery in the future I doubt Jamie will see any of it. If this guy had invester 100.00 into ISU budget, that wouldn't have given them 20 wins this year. Why invest in the egg, I'll take the chicken. When ISU's basketball shows some sigh of life I am sure more money will come. urrently they are comatose.

Jamie, take note of this. When you are climbing up the ladder of success you NEVER want to step on anyones toes as you just did. Reason? Because it is connected to the ankle which is connected to the shin which is connected to the knee which is connected to the thigh which is connected to the a$$ that you may have to KISS someday.
