I don't necessarily hate anyone at Westboro - that would make me exactly like them. I just absolutely hate what they are doing.

My aunt's funeral (she was killed in the tornado) is on Monday afternoon, I sure hope that they aren't there. Or for that manner, I hope they stay away on Saturday as well.
The ironic thing is that my aunt and uncle are probably as Christian as they come. When my uncle regained consciousness in the hospital and they explained to him that his wife was killed in the tornado, his son-in-law was at his side. The son-in-law is a pastor and asked my uncle if he had a special prayer request. My uncle replied that he wanted him to pray, thanking God for all the blessings in his life that he had received. No "woe is me" or "I've lost everything", but I'm thankful for what I do have. And now people want to protest at her funeral.....simply amazing.

These people use tragedy's to bring recognition to their cause - however stupid it may seem....

Wonder how they would feel if it were their place of worship that was sent sprawling across the countryside how they would justify God being angry at them for allowing their own state gov't to be "Fag Enablers" by the way - could someone define this for me????
The very same government that established their right to freedom of free speech is the same gov't that has allowed these individuals the freedom of their beliefs. How or what is the difference?
Second - Do they realize that the National Guard still has Parkersburg blocked off, so if they do indeed picket, it will be out on a highway where no body can hear them which obviously tarnishes the effects of what their trying to do......cause a scene, make america appalled at their actions.....thats the only way these idiots get any airtime....
They use the same theology that terrorists use - no regard for anyone else's plight simply their cause - however idiotic the belief system may be, however disengaging the thoughts of many of these right wing religious fanatics are (David Koresh) they use the shock factor to gain significance because nobody listens otherwise!!!!
Lastly, this is just a tidbit to think about - historically, it seems that these religious fanatical groups are using religion as a coverup to engage in other activities and using religion to justify their actions. Its seems these "Religious Groups" are really brainwashed deviants that are using the term "Religious Group" to handle their business and claiming its what they were told to do, "ITS GODS WAY"......
We can only hope that someday the type of tragedy that struck parkersburg could strike their homes and religious temple so maybe they can see that God is pissed at them too for spreading this ill will to their fellow mankind. This same group has picketed several fallen soldiers coming back from Iraq. The very military that protects them and grants them the right for freedom of speech is the same individuals that when they've given the ultimate in defense of our country, these worthless individuals picket their funerals.
Let's just send in the ATF and this problem will be solved....

I have a hard time believing the Westboro folks are anything resembling Biblical Christians.
The Bible says...."you shall know them (Christians) by their fruit." Westboro seems like a bunch of rotten apples judging by their behavior.
This is unfortunate. I have resented these idiots since they protested at my graduation from ISU. It is hard to understand how these people can consider themselves religious. As far as the suing and freedom of speech, Criminals have always been willing to use the law to their advantage.
No the very unfortunate thing is a community that has already suffered so much will be forced to waste resources that are already in short supply on providing a protected location for these false prophets to spew their hatred. Redirect your aggression to cleaning away the damage and helping to rebuild. Redirect your verbal abuses for the Phelps to prayers for the victims and their loved ones.
