Doug McD is great, but we need a big man. Embiid is making 67% of his shots this year, he cab rebound and block shots. That is what we need.
Embiid is huge obviously. But I am taking a SR Royce White with 3 years experience in Fred's offense over him. I really think Royce's unique combo of size, strength, quickness and athleticism would be enough on the defensive glass mixed with Ejim, Kane and Hogue's rebounding to overtake a team with the size Kansas has this year
Those of you not saying Embiid, and coming up with some shooter, because Embiid "wouldn't fit Freds style," are thinking way too hard. Fred is from the NBA way of thinking, and he's a brilliant coach. I'm pretty sure he can adjust to having a guy like Embiid on the roster.
I am also pretty certain if you asked Fred this question tomorrow, he would say Embiid. The reason Iowa St plays the way they do, is because they don't have a guy like Embiid. Hopefully next year McKay can be a poor man's Embiid.

Got some Hok trolls on here that keep saying woodbury...he'd be the fastest 5 fouls the Big 12 has ever seen!
On a more serious note, Marcus Fizer is the former Cyclone I would take. At 6'8'' 260 he isn't a whole lot taller than any of our current guys, but what a bruiser he was. He could have out-muscled guys like Embiid and Wiggins, really thrown them off their game. Someone said Royce over Fizer, but I disagree. Fizer was a better FT shooter, had decent-enough ball skills for a true 4, and could step out for a 3 when he needed to as well. Marcus Fizer gets my vote all the way.

We Need a Post Defender
We don't need a stud player to make this team significantly better, we just need a guy like Embiid, Perry Ellis,etc who can guard his guy in the post one on one. We give up too many easy shots because we double down on ALL passes to the post.
Pick a guy- Embiid, Ellis, Ridley, Lammert, Sprangler(sp), Woodbury, , etc.

Iowa would have 2 more wins if it didn't have woodbury. Fred would not play him. Olaseni may give us a win or 2 more.
Lost all cred with woodbury. When people put this you realize Niang ability to score at will against him is why we beat Iowa. He is horrible. We are way better off with the posts we have.
