MSU will be a bowl team and yes, they have QB issues but quite possibly have a better defense than any team in the Big12. They're a very strong and physical team that seems to be struggling with execution on offense. It looks as if Iowa plays them next week.
There is no Ohio State caliber team on ISU's schedule unless Oklahoma improves dramatically. Texas is a bit down but could rebound by end of season.
You are delusional. The Big 12 has more ranked teams in the AP Poll than the B1G with two less teams. Michigan State is not a good football team.
MSUs offense is horrible but they have the best defense in the country probably. They will probably win 6-7 games.
One can't hide from history. Is Iowa's history better overall? Sure. I just always find it so interesting that a lot of iowa fans celebrate their history like they are Michigan. Unfortunately this idea that Iowa has some kind of elite football history is an indication that most hok fans don't have a clue or haven't been hok fans for very long(bandwagon jumpers). It's as if they believe Iowa football didn't exist prior to Hayden Fry with the only exceptions being Nile Kinnick and some bogus claim to a national championship that the NCAA does not recognize as legitimate.
If you asked a group of 100 iowa fans if the hoks had ever had 19 consecutive losing seasons I would guess that about 80% to 90% would say "No". They would be wrong.
These iowa fans should also keep in mind that during those black hole years of iowa football they refused to play ISU. Had the game been played during these years the overall head to head record would be much closer then it is currently.
We'll probably get shoveled off the field in Columbus. I think we'll definitely lose again at Nebby. But I think we may have a chance against Wisco, NW, Michigan, MSU at home. Michigan doesn't look to be as good as expected, and Wisco plays into our strength of stopping the run. We can get two of those. Throw in a coin toss of a game @Purdue, we typically blow one like that every year, and it's looking like 6 or 7 wins. I'd be thrilled with 7 wins and a decent bowl with this team.
Really? You should probably inform the NCAA of this outrage.

UW running game>>>>Minny's running game. From the Oline to the back getting the ball. It should be an interesting matchup. My problem is your undersized LBs will start to wear down by years end. They have done that consistently and I see this year as no different.
I will say a team that can throw will eat Iowa alive. You guys will probably goo bowling and could get waylaid by a team that runs an effective spread.
I don't think those linebackers are as undersized as you're leading us to believe:
Kirksey: 6-2 235
Morris: 6-2 240
Hitchens: 6-1 233
I have always doubted Kirkseys listed height. And playing the type of teams they play, they have worn down in almost every season. Morris and Kirksey the most notably.I don't think those linebackers are as undersized as you're leading us to believe:

It will be an interesting matchup when Wisconsin rolls into Iowa City in November. Iowa has a pretty decent run defense and Wisconsin has one of the best run blocking O-lines year in and year out in the entire country. Combine that with the stable of running backs the Badgers have and it will easily be the best running game that Iowa will face all season.
I think you're mostly on the mark. Morris is 240+ now so he's not as undersized as he has been the past three years trying to play the middle. Obviously Wisco's line and running game is far better than Minney's. But the big reason the LBs have underperformed the past few years has been the play of our DL. They weren't doing well at keeping the OL off the 'backers, so add smaller LBs to that equation and you get worn down guys who struggle stuffing the run. This year our DL play has been much, much better. Nothing is being given up between the tackles, and they're not going balls out to get in the QBs face. So while the sack numbers aren't impressive, the opposing QBs we've played, three of whom are pretty mobile, haven't gotten much of anything scrambling.
Wisco is another beast altogether. But I think we'll be up for that one and could get those goofy b*astards.
This game will barometer Iowa's year IMO. Win it, adn the enthusiasm is back. I think a Nebby win would do that as well. Lose, and people will still be grumpy.
You get OSU out early enough that people can get the bad taste out of the mouth. And I expect it to be bad. Meyer is a merciless bastard, and will try to get his QB on the Heisman shortlist in this game.
Stave played much better than I thought was possible for him vs OSU. Part of that was that OSU refused to double Abbrederis but still that worries me. If he plays that well, Iowa won't beat Wisconsin.
