Nope. I fully expect to be embarrassed tomorrow to the tune of about 35-3. Throw their record out the window. Here's why:

1. KU is coming off a confidence building performance in Lubbock. ISU rolled over and died last week against TX.

2. Senior day- last chance to get a big 12 win at home.

3. KU students who don't have tix already get in for free for this game. There may actually be a KU crowd that cares.

4. Who's hungrier? ISU needs to go bowling, but KU hasn't won since September.

5. Lenz & Knott were the heart and soul of the team. Losing their on-field leadership has effectively cut the head off the snake.

6. We need to the run the ball, but rather than starting Barnett, Jantz will get the nod and once again render the zone read useless.

I'd love to be wrong, but for these reasons I won't bother watching the game tomorrow. Rip me all you want. I just wished we could have played them a month ago.

I was rooting for Kansas to lose a nail biter against Texas Tech. Hoping they would get their hopes up and be gassed for this weekend (physically and mentally). However, I can see how it would have been good for them to win as well. That way they might have a let down game after a big win.

Shoot, I just can't get a read on this game. Just play it already!

I'm in the same camp. In fact I've been this way all season. I'm usually pretty optimistic about ISU ball and I feel like we are on the way up, but other than Western IL I haven't really felt good about any game.

It's weird I'm used to be the guy that would get to every game early because this was finally the game we were going to beat (insert good team here).

The last 8 Iowa State games that I have attended outside of JTS have ended in losses. I will be at the game tomorrow. Given that history, I sort of expert a loss too.

I'm not getting any real vibes about tomorrow's game, HOWEVER, I'm getting a very strong feeling that this team is either going to finish at 5-7 or 7-5, but not 6-6. Anyone else feeling like this?

I just feel like if we win tomorrow, we're going to win next week against WV too, but if we lose tomorrow we're going to lay and egg and lose to WV also.

That's why I think tomorrow's game is a MUST win if we want to go bowling. If we lose to a 1-9 KU team, we will be down in the dumps and won't recover for WV I'm afraid.

Is this like a reverse Texas in basketball last year thread?

I felt pretty good about this game when Jake was still playing, because, for the most part, the run defense had been pretty darn solid. TX really ran through ISU last week, and that is really concerning. Hopefully Wally has a good plan to stop them. I would expect him to go with a 5-3 and have three real LBers in there instead of two and one hybrid. I think it is time for the Miller kid to get some playing time.

I feel like the Clones will win this, but not convincingly.

I fully expect ISU to lose tomorrow and I can't shake it. The good news is that when I feel this way, except for obvious situations (OU for example), we usually win.

I think I still have a built in defense mechanism for when Lucy pulls the ball away.

Every ISU football fan has a built-in strong defense mechanism to lessen the piano that they fear is about to fall on them. I don't have an unshakeable feeling we'll lose though.

Lets get real, all they do is run the ball isu allows, what, just over a hundred yard a game. Teams have been torching isu through the air. There is no way kansas puts up more then 20 on saturday

I expect to lose by double digits right now, but I've been a doom-and-gloomer since the WIU game. We still have a reasonable chance at 7-5, but we need to play a hell of a lot better than we did last week to have a shot against KU and WVU.

A lot of the fanbase is negative after last weeks showing, plus history always comes into play. I personally think we will win by 10, similar view to CW, I know we are not the same team without JK, Lenz and Watson, but I truly think we go in execute the game plan and play some great defense.

It probably has to do with since Paul Rhoads has taken over we are 6-12 on the road and 9 of those games were beat downs. That being said CPR has 6 wins on the road and some of them were big wins which is awesome and I feel like we always have a chance in any game now where 5-10 years ago I didn't.

People need to realize that ISU football has a lot of charlie brown moments.
ISU has a history of getting the fan base excited and laying an egg.
Or having thousands of people go to Kansas Stadium to seal the deal in the big12 title game and get beat by KU
Or have mizzou come in and beat us for the same thing.

Its going to take a couple of really good years to wash the pain away. (8-10 wins)
This is Kind of like hot girlfriend that cheats on you. You take her back but keep one eye open...(That is like a lot of fans right now) I want to believe she changed.....But I have been burnt so many times before.

I really hope this team is ready.

On one hand I think it's a game ISU could lose.

On the other hand I think it's pathetic our fanbase is so terrified of a team who beat South Dakota State and lost all nine other games including a blowout to Baylor a couple weeks ago.

There is absolutely no way we are going to miss that field goal to win the Big 12 north.
There is absolutely no way we are going to lose to Hampton....unless JT shaves points and then we bonk at end.

On the flip side, we did get a holding call for McCarney on a 1yard run play against Missouri.
Here is my indicator: If Rhoads throws his headset in the 1st quarter, then we win. If he and Steel play all calm and classy, then we lose.

No way ISU loses this game. When you have a bad feeling or thinking you could lose to a really inferior team it is your brain that puts out a defense mechanism because in reality you are really hoping for a win and wanting to secure the bowl bid and the negative feelings protect you from being to up for the game. I could see where the Cyclones come out flat at the start of the game but if it gets to the half like that Coach Rhoads is going to let out a firestorm from the locker room and let everybody know that this game is the best chance to secure a bowl bid and you never let it go to the last game if you don't have to.

Come on! When I think about all the bad and tough times for ISU football over the years the fans always step up loud and proud. The negatively has to be a defense mechanism.
