Re-watched the entire OU game. Both teams were heavily penalized and went through stretches where each offense struggled (Rattler and Purdy both made mistakes). That drop by OU’s WR on the 5 yard line was a major gift to us. That kick return by Kene saved our bacon. ISU was very much a work in progress back then. So was OU.

Going into Dallas I am glad to have the veteran QB and the better running back(s)— I never thought I would say that in my lifetime! Defense travels and we have the slight edge there too. There is a reason to be confident. What an opportunity!

They lost that game, too.

During that time span, they never one more than one conference game a year, going winless (in conference) in four of those years.
They also have the worst record in division 1 against the spread since 2009 at 53-86-1.

I’m pretty sure that in all my years in CF, all the long timers know that I’m a raging optimist. I’m often the first to contradict the Debbie Downers.

And right at the moment, I don’t see this game as anything other than a tossup. I’m...cautiously optimistic.

Subject to change, of course.
I think we kick their ass in second half. Isu has improved every game, OU only got players back. This team is no joke after a full season of improvements.
