Need it on tap in Clear Lake, IA. There are so many Clones in Northern Iowa that would drink it!
I wondered and hoped for this too. I swapped out domestics this tailgate season for Ames Lager, CloneFest, Jack Trice Ale, etc. but CloneFest was the only thing I ever saw at Hy-Vee Wine & Spirits that sold in even a 12 pack. Are there any plans to begin selling in 24 packs?
Has anyone seen Ames Lager on tap in the wild?
You missed the news of West-O is doubling their capacity? It will be better by next football season. What if, hear me out now, WestO had Salespeople whose job it was to figure out how to get the product to the shelves and on tap.![]()
Yup. We got it on the first run in Cresco and haven’t seen it in over a month. The local liquor store ran out of it quick.Need it on tap in Clear Lake, IA. There are so many Clones in Northern Iowa that would drink it!
You still need ways to get that capacity to the stores. I thought capacity was being increased in the Sept-Oct time frame. We should be seeing more product now?You missed the news of West-O is doubling their capacity? It will be better by next football season.
I have. There were several 6-packs in the cooler at the Prairie Trail HyVee in Ankeny...they're usually on flats on the floor because they're gone so fast. You still need ways to get that capacity to the stores. It helps that the beer (to me) is good and people just enjoy drinking it.
Both Ames Lager and Prowl (the UNI NIL beer from SingleSpeed) are light years better than Swarm. Not even close.
HA!!!Prowl sales going to keep future NFL first round pick Theo Day in Cedar Falls one more season?
JK... and have heard the same on Swarm. Still funny the Iowa radio guy, Andrew Downs, picked Ames Lager over Swarm in a blind taste test.
Haven't seen it in 12 packs but I'd love that. Maybe a 15 pack even. The sixer of it I got I picked up at WestO now that I know that I like it I'll buy it by the 12 when I find it.
I just meant picking up 2 sixers.Haven't seen it in 12 packs but I'd love that. Maybe a 15 pack even.
That is good news. 2 Hy-Vees out here in Dubuque carrying it, but pretty hit or miss if it's in stock. I have yet to see it anywhere else. There is a 3rd Hy-Vee down by the river where I know the W/S Manager personally is a huge Hawkeye fan and am guessing he is not carrying it for a specific reason...None at Fareway either.Central and Eastern IA should see some this week if not already.
I wish those other beers were part of the We Will those are some good beers. This is what I have heard too. When I talked to the distributor filling shelves, he told me they cant get it. The distributor got all of 2.5 cases initially to distribute to all their locations. And had continually ordered more and were not able to get it. Said they were told they may get a couple more cases in a few more weeks at that time. Said they continue to try to order it, but WestO cant fulfill the order.
I realize this problem is what it is, but some of this seems like not only is the NIL missing out on a lot of income, but also seems like it was short sighted on one side of the deal or the other in what the demand would be.
I guess it could be the other way around that it sucked and no one wants it. So I guess it is a good problem to have, I just hope they get their production and distribution figured out sooner than later.
I also wish the other ISU beers that dont support the NIL were not available so much more than the one that does, especially when the sales people and bartenders are telling people that those are the NIL beers.
