Another Billboard in CR/IC

Coming from out-of-state I could never figure out why putting up a billboard in eastern Iowa was somehow viewed as "controversial" (even by some ISU fans). Isn't ISU supposed to represent the entire state?
As far as smack goes this is about as mild as it gets. Recognizing the fact that the new conference commissioner has extensive roots in the state? The horror.

I love it because it shows how stupid hawk fans are, by being upset about it in the first place. We have more alumni in the state and more in-state students attending ISU. It is a Cyclone State and we should and will put a billboard up anywhere in Iowa we want.
I do agree that the thousands of Tavern hawks that just throw a tshirt on and say they're a huge fan....won't have any idea who Bob is.

Didn't want to start a new thread, but amazed at the marketing idea for a contest with this billboard. Take a picture and post to social media? What the hell. Number one most people will be driving so let’s just give them a reason to take out the smart phones to take a picture and do anything but drive. Second at two locations are on an interstate where you should never pull over to the side of the road to stop and take a picture you should only pull over in a emergency.
This. I would kill myself if everyday I had to walk 5 minutes to a bus stop, ride a bus for 10 minutes, transfer busses, ride another bus for 5 minutes, and walk again for 10 minutes just to get to class. The university's set up sucks. I can get to any class at Iowa State in a 10 minute walk or less.
Wow wow Ellen, don't even start. If a waitress wore an ISU shirt in BWW in Iowa City, the waitress would probably be shot or have **** dumped on her. That's just the way hok fans are.
Huh. I never did any of that when I went to school there. Hell I never even got on a bus.
The best part about this billboard is it is getting a reaction. I get a good laugh at everyone claiming that this just screams little brother and insecure. Sounds like they are desperately trying to convince themselves this is true.

It might have been stronger if we went with "The young men representing our university bested the young men representing your university on the gridiron in the contest of the past year."
I love it. I think little brother syndrome has been cured as long as Kirky has a losing record against us. JP has earned the right to do whatever he wants. The location is definitely aimed at Iowa for the CR spot but overall they are spread out in areas that will receive lots of attention. I got a good laugh out of it.
