Any of you worried about the potential Texas Match up?

Looking at Tech's recent results, the Longhorns better be focused on them and not ISU. They've been hanging the past few weeks. Certainly not playing like a defeated team given.

No.

People still haven't given up on Texas? I think it's pretty clear by this point that they just aren't that good.

If we are worried about matching up with anybody in the Big 12 tourney, we can't be too confident about the NCAA tourney.

I worry mostly about Felix. That guys is full on hot or cold. He was making everything in TXs big comeback in Ames, and was just plain awful in Austin. By and large teams making an abnormal number of 3 pointers has been the thing that has beat the clones this year. Call it bad defense or bad luck, whatever you want.

The big concern is that they are very talented. Sort of like the TX football team. They may have a been bad, but they certainly have the talent to put it together for one game.

Texas or Texas Tech will be gassed the next day. You watch, it will be tight Wednesday night and whoever wins between those two will be tired come Thurs

I think it's safe to say that they cannot. They haven't all season.

Both teams just stand around for 30 seconds of the shot clock, so they wont be too wore out. They are also college kids. Its not the 2nd games that teams usually show how tiered they are its late in the 3rd one.

Considering this team only shows up ready to win on special occasions, I am generally concerned this Thursday isn't special enough. We will see. Hope I'm wrong.

To be fair... Texas is a big name program that many people thought would be a Final Four contender this year and they were very competitive games both times ISU faced them. Hoiberg and the guys will be ready to battle.

Well, after reading all the writers on CF, everyone is afraid of the possible Texas re-match. Does anyone know the chances of teams playing on Wed night and winning on Wed. night, followed by winning on Thursday at the post season tourney? I would assume the % is very low. That is one big advantage we have for sure. I know Baylor did it last year. Also I know no team has ever won it winning 4 games in 4 days. That would just be crazy.

I have complete confidence they can "put it together" for one game. Like others have said, you can tell who has actually been watching the games lately and who has just been seeing wins and losses and by how much.

I don't have the scientific data but from attending the Big XII tournament quite a few times (and of course watching on t.v.) it seems as though that team that already played almost has an advantage of sorts. You are correct that after that second game it seems like they start showing some wear, however that opening game may give a team the chance to get used to the rims/shooting background/etc.

As a Cyclone fan of 30+ years, I never overlook a team, doesn't matter who it is. "Worry" may not be the right word, but I am definitely cautious of getting too overconfident, because once you do a game like @Tech happens, or Hampton, or the many other open scars we all still feel. Worry or not, I'm never completely at ease when we're talking ISU athletics. Makes winning all that more exciting.
