Anyone else hearing that JP has already decided Prohm is coming back?

There was something off despite that.
And Prohm spent the entire year talking about building relationships.
No we just want you to teach basketball.

Well, it was off in part because Naz went down for most of the season with an injury which really hurt our depth.

I would also say that building good relationships with your players as a first-year coach is also a part of teaching basketball. Besides, we get told over and over and over again about how smart and senior-laden that team was, and that they could have coached themselves to success. If all that is true, what did they have to learn from Prohm?

I don't see Prohm dragging this into the mud, we may want to move on from him but he seems like a nice guy, that wouldn't be his style from what I have seen. But I'm just a random person on the internet.

Certainly not a strength, guards at this level have too much length, mitigates him offensively. Not saying he can’t contribute in some way, clearly he has.
There are plenty of good guards offensively at his height. It isn't like he is 5'2 or something. The kid is 6'1.

There are good guards at his height that play point guard. How many 6”1 shooting guards are starting for Power 5 programs. He is a career 32% 3 point shooter and has shown the ability to consistently create his own shot off the dribble. He is catch and shoot exclusively.

Not even close on 4 years. McD's tenure was a losing season each year. We had a 6 seed in the tourney in there.

McD's 4 year stretch was 59 wins. Prohm is currently at 50 wins over the past 4 years (including the 6 seed tourney year).

Literally doesn't matter. The measure of success in CBB is the NCAA tournament. We got there with a 6 seed. Orr never had a 6 seed in the tourney. Floyd beat that once with a 5 seed. That's a historically very good season.

This season sucks and is absolutely terrible which is throwing that total wins number off but nobody should care about that.

I am not going to go and look how many are 6'1. But there are plenty of good guards that are that height or smaller. The issue isn't his height, it is that he isn't that good. Javan Johnson has plenty of height, but that doesn't seem to help him.

I was at the Virginia game, that degree to which he embarrassed himself and failed to have that team ready was really amazing. That was a terrifying red flag. Purdue game the next year was even worse.

For me there was something off with the '17 double-digit loss to Iowa when we had a roster of: Monte, Burton, Naz, Babb. Also, just before that game, vs Zaga, we had the lead < 2min, and possession (maybe two possessions with lead), and could not run a set offensive play.
IMO, Prohm's O-sets are a weakness unless we have NBA-type talent capable of going 1-on-1. Thinking back to those losses I recall have a 'red-flag' moment that didn't resurface until a couple years later.,..
