My brother and I are going to the game on Saturday and we are wondering if anyone else will be there tailgating? I haven't heard the greatest of things regarding Baylor tailgating, (not that they're bad people, they just don't show up to tailgate) but I was hoping some ISU fans would be there to tailgate a bit. Thanks in advance!

I haven't been since they built the new stadium, but there was a nice group of Cyclones that met up and tailgated together. And while the BU tailgating scene may be small, those that did were very generous and hospitable, and knew how to have a good time. Try checking with the DFW and Austin Alumni groups.

I went in 2008 and 2011 and the only people tailgating at the stadium (Floyd Casey) were ISU fans. At the time they had a "no open container policy" but we were told that if we kept our beverages in a cup nobody would ask any questions. Didn't have any problems.

My understanding is that there is much less tailgating space at the new stadium because there's a river on one side of the stadium and only small parking lots on the other, but maybe I'm mistaken. The old stadium had plenty of green space and public lots around (much like Jack Trice, only less nice) which made tailgating pretty easy.

Also, where is the best parking for the game?
Tailgating is much improved with our team's improvement. This week will be a bit odd with parking/tailgating due to homecoming and the parade starting at 7:00AM on campus. Most of the tailgating takes place at 3 locations

A.) Next to the stadium near the water and the track stadium
B.) Across the bridge next to the Law School and Mayborn Museum
C.) In a boat on the river

If you don't want to talk to people for food/drinks then there is the George's party zone with food and drink right across MLK from the stadium

Parking wise I would say Downtown Waco (free parking and free shuttles to McLane) or at Brazos Parking

Oh and for the love of God do not plan on eating at the stadium concessions. Unless you enjoy standing in line for 45 minutes only to be told they are out of everything.

Yeah, tailgating is much better now. I agree on concessions, just get your fill at tailgate. Concessions at best in McLane are hit or miss. The Brazos Parking area across the street from the stadium is a good spot; looks like the ones advertised and linked in this thread are there anyway. http://brazosparking.com/

Just an overall far superior experience than anything Floyd Casey was ever able to supply. And, if you are in Texas and have a boat, bring it. ;)

The Baylor Tailgate scene went from non-existent to average in the years after Briles came to Baylor, but since McLane has opened it's outstanding.

Wear your Clone gear through the tents and you will get multiple offers for food and drink... there is alot of respect for your football fan base in the face of minimal positive results...

Georges is a great place if you would rather not join strangers tailgates and the food is pretty good...try the crazy wings with ranch dressing.

I'd say park in the neighborhoods just north of MLK... families will let you park in their yards for $20-$30

The venue is as beautiful as college football gets.

CPR should personally give back rubs to every ISU fan who attends this game.

Knowing full well what will probably happen, this trip is more of a start to visit as any BXII stadiums as possible. It's not like I'm making a large trip, I'm only driving up from Austin.
