I think the cool $1M each year of the deal is what got it done... The 2009 slate is the cash of 7 home games with only 6 actually at home, where 2010 has the cash of 8 home games with only 7 in JTS. 2010 is the cash cow.

Going to KC has pros and cons, benefits and costs. It should be a good time and can promote the program, but it took a 7th home game away from Ames when we have not had one for a while and it would have been nice ot have it there.

We had 7 home games in 2007.

You're not the only one who thinks this way. Big woop.
BTW, what a big "thank you" this is to all the Ames restaurants, bars, and hotels who donate to the NCC and get hit up for donations to ISU student events (like Veishea) all year long...

Maybe if the city was a little more supportive of the university, the decision would be harder. ISU had the chance at renovating Hilton 10 or so years ago with a hotel tax and they fought it tooth and nail. Ames without ISU would be Marshalltown or Carroll. That's how much the university has done for the city. Yet the city sure seems unappreciative. A progressive city would help the university, but it sure seems like the city would rather be Nevada than a progressive city.
