Bilas hates the big 12. Not surprised he supports the ACC

Big Cat, maybe the most famous Wisconsin fan, said he's considering Miami as a lock of the year pick because "Iowa State is bad. They just are." Of course he prefaced it with "credit to Iowa State, they won, but".

You can tell nobody outside the Big 12 has watched our games or Big 12 games in general. We tried telling them that our games are more intense and physical than anything around the country. Then we come in and win the exact way we have all year, and they say we're a bad team. Our defense is elite. I don't know why that has been glossed over. Antonelli mentioned it in-game, but barely a peep on the studio crews.
If really bad teams advanced in March, the Big Ten would represent 50% of the Sweet 16.

Who’s the most famous WI fan?

**** them. Always blows my mind how some teams get called Cinderella’s while others get called lucky. Also shows how little work these people put into research. We still have not lost a non conference game this year. Without the refs sucking Davison’s **** the whole game, we win that by 15 easy.

We are not a good offensive team. That’s why we play the we do.

I haven't seen a lot of the games but he frequently made me nervous this weekend. Is that how he plays generally? Loved the energy and effort, but, like Gabe some, kept waiting for a TO.

Yep what you see is what you get with him. The monster game from Gabe was the surprise IMO. Loved it though.

More bulletin board material - Jay Bilas asked on ESPN which double digit seed had the best chance to make the FF answered “Miami”, then gave a lengthy tribute to them. Barely a mention of ISU beyond “difficulty scoring”…

I’m not a betting man, but I like our chances…

To be fair, Bilas talked Miami up during the selection show. Said he liked them pulling some upsets and getting to the Sweet 16 and even Elite 8. He thought they matched up good with everyone in their bracket.

And he isn't wrong. Guards win in March, and they are damn good in that area. We will have to be on the A-game for this one because the athleticism they possess from that position is the best we will have seen yet in the tournament.

Guess I'm not really interested in fighting for respect. If we wouldn't have lost a few games by 30 and/or scored 40 or less a few times, we'd have gotten it by now. Doesn't matter, if we win on Friday, we will be impossible to ignore.

And I care even less about COY awards. Awards in college sports are stupid, political and biased. They don't mean anything.

Bingo on the winning Friday part. If we win this next one, you won't have to worry about a lack of respect at that point. We won't get the limelight still because of the blue bloods that are still to likely be in the tournament, but people will definitely take notice if we find ourselves in the Elite 8.

I thought having our men's and women's teams both make the Sweet 16 was insane enough as it is. But if both somehow, some way, win this week and go to the Elite 8...that is some rare program air.

Second paragraph is spot on. Sports coverage is just like political coverage, every information outlet has an agenda and 95% of the hacks that need to fill time for them carry it out. I file all of it under entertainment not news.
