Yep we are old and have left a game early twice. Once was a football game when I was eight months pregnant and thought I was having contractions that turned out to be Braxton Hicks, once when husband was sick, both were in second quarter. We were still firmly entrenched at that freezing cold Texas Tech game with our feet in the snow to the bitter end.

I like watching things after a game and not feeling rushed by lots of people behind me. That first Campbell year that had so many losses and the students would all be gone so the team started singing to the band was a great idea that they kept up even in the good years.

We have a two hour drive and have gotten home very late for the night games but if we are going to commit the money and time we will see the game through. I understand why some leave early. I am more annoyed by east stadium rich middle of field people that seem like they are out tailgating 80% of the game, but it’s really not fair of me to judge other people’s circumstances.

When we go to basketball games, it’s usually a break game that is on a weekend and again are in no rush.
We are old and never leave early for FB or BB.
My son is young and often leaves early due to family responsibilities.

I am the exact opposite. I have NEVER left an event early in my life. In fact, quite often the ushers will come up and remind me it is time to leave. My wife has given up even attempting to convince me otherwise. We discuss the outcome, either complaining or celebrating, and maybe the next opponent. Magically by the time we walk to our car, it is easy to find and we rarely have to wait long to exit. Has worked well for me for decades.
My girlfriend thought we were done against Oklahoma State in 1992 at Hilton and asked if we could leave early before the end of the game.

I saw Justice Thigpen suddenly sink a three pointer with that remarkable low arch on his shot and I just felt something compelling me to want to stay(we were down 18 at half time).

Staying for that game became the greatest Cyclone victory I ever witnessed live, was worth the three day headache that week and it was worth having to watch “The Cutting Edge” twice when it came out.

I sleep on the bleachers just in case another game starts. These people that leave are more worried about getting first in line at burger king

At least they were aware enough to show the wrestling match during breaks in the game but scheduling this game same time as the Cy-Hawk wrestling match was idiotic. Not a fan of Sunday games.... that's some B10 sh*t.

In peak Hoiberg and early Prohm seasons most cupcake games had recorded attendance of 14k+ I just don't care to go further back.

I expected attendance to be bad yesterday for all reasons stated above but I feel like the student attendance is what is really atrocious. Do they hate the new bleacher situation and being further back? I realize it's Sunday before finals so some of them maybe studying but still...

We were mostly terrible when I was in college (04-08) and the lower area was always packed and loud. I don't want to turn into one of the old men who gripe about everything but seems like the student passion is really missing. Hopefully this will really pick up during conference play.

The reason for student passion lacking has to be a fault of social media. Kids/young adults say they are all about the experience, but what they really care about is making sure others know what they are experiencing. It takes them out of 'the moment'. You see it all the time with phones out recording, taking selfies, checking twitter/instagram etc. That's my opinion anyway.
