As to the West Virginia game, is this maybe a game where we try to go with 2 bigs? Obviously their monster in the middle and offensive rebounds are the things that scares you about them (as opposed to their guards), but by the same token, that guy can get you fouling at a high rate too, so it might be safer one at a time?

He doesn't play with much fire. This was a main narrative when he took over the point last season, if you remember Monte's comments.

When the team isn't playing well, his injuries start popping up more, seem more painful...
Who plays with fire on this team?
Babb’s demeanor and level of competing is far down the list of our issues. Now, several of his teammates?

If that’s true, is there a player on the team that isn’t off-putting?

A former teammate has said that sometimes Babb needs to get smacked in the face before he starts playing to his potential (paraphrasing). His demeanor has been noted by his teammates. I'm sorry that doesn't align with your perception of Babb.

I wasn't ranking the team's issues. I was making an observation about his teammates not giving a **** that their senior PG was in pain.

As a quiet guy myself (in a non-message board setting lol), that's pretty irritating. The lack of being demonstrative does not mean lack of passion. I get that people don't get that, but his results speak for themselves. Sure, he could be more aggressive on offense, but we have aggressive scorers all over the floor this year, so we do need facilitators too.

Some guys need to be pissed off before they play at their best.

I already noted that he could be misunderstood.

His results have been subpar for the past month. We need his scoring and shooting ability from January.

Our entire team seemed that way to me a couple years ago. Seems like they wouldn't turn it on until they were down 15 (or would turn it off when they were up 15, and not turn it on again until it was close again). Reminded me of Rocky in a way.

A little worried about handling the ball against the press without Babb but excited to see what Lindell can do back in the starting lineup. I'm sure he'll play great and the next 2 weeks will be jam packed with "Wigginton should be starting" threads.

Didn't Talley play extensively against WVU last year (likely out of necessity)? He did a good job helping break the press if I recall correctly.

Yep, though as noted, WV has abandoned the press this year, and I think that was necessary as it's risk/reward, and with the makeup of their team this year, there was way more risk than reward.

Babb leads the team in minutes as expected with 993 so a break will do him good.

The stat that drives me nuts is Shayok's Turnovers, he's got 75 on the season 28 higher then the next highest, THT at 47. Doesn't matter if dropping 18-24 points if your giving away who knows how many with bad ball control.

Hopefully he'll be fine by tournament time.

Silver lining is that it will force Prohm to give some more minutes to other players against the worst team in the big 12. Will be nice to have some guys get some more experience so they can be ready just in case.

That’s an overstatement. Shayok’s TO% isn’t that bad

When a guy is shooting almost 50% from the floor, 39% from 3, 89% from the line, and has a line of 18+ pts, 5+ rebounds and 2 assists and is one of your best defenders, I think you can afford to still play him when he gives up the ball 2.6 times a game. I would venture to say that 10-15 of those turnovers were on crap charge calls as well.

He's averaging 2.6 TO/game while averaging 18.7 ppg. I think it's going to be ok.
