Okoro is visiting Seton Hall today. Not an ISU commit yet.

I look at the post we sign in 2012 the most important recruit to date for Fred. Looking at the roster we'll need wings, so as of now we only have room on the roster for one post. With our current roster this guy needs to be RWs replacement. We'll have SR Booker to go with White, Godfrey and Railey all JRs. White is the one guy on our roster I don't expect to return for his Senior year. Godfrey and Railey I see as both being productive, but they aren't the low post scorer that commands a doubleteam.

Found this write-up on Niang's game at the National Prep School Championships FWIW

Georges Niang (Tilton)- Once again, Niang was a masterful display of efficiency in Tilton’s hard-fought loss to Notre Dame on Friday, scoring 13 straight points for his team down the stretch to help the Rams charge back and assume the lead with under a minute to play. The six-foot-seven, face-up forward hit big shot after big shot and consistently used a quick-spin to the baseline to lose his defender and finish with a smooth reverse lay-up with either hand. All rankings aside, Niang continues to put up outlandish numbers with astounding efficiency against players receiving interest from the highest levels of college basketball, and, if he can continue this type of production throughout the spring and summer, one has to think it’s only a matter of time before some high-major programs begin to take notice of his ability to flat out get it done against elite competition on the biggest of stages.

Boston Herald reported.....

"Leo Papile’s BABC squad might feel like a MASH unit to him right now, but after the first game of the season, the casual observer might think it’s just business as usual for the defending AAU national champion."

But the game was mostly about the junior in the middle, Niang, whom Papile called a “uniqueâ€￾ player.

Niang opened the game with 11 points in a 16-2 run for BABC. All of his work was done on the low block, and he showed a keen ability to finish with both hands on either side of the basket.

Georges Niang had 37 points and 13 rebounds, while Rene Castro added 13 points and 12 assists to help BABC dominate the Connecticut All-Stars, 96-72, in the 10th edition of the Paul Fitzpatrick and Knobby Nolan New England All-Star Challenge yesterday at Mount Ida.

Georges is going to see ISU and Iowa in back-to-back days. How does one not come away much more impressed with ISU? Look at the things ISU brings to the table right now. A brand new 24-hour accessable practice facility, James H. Hilton Coliseum, the roster, CFH's connections to the NBA, Coach Lutz, but most importantly, Fred's dreamy eyes. How does Iowa compete/compare with that?

This is nearly identical to the Jarrod Uthoff recruitment. We all (me included) don't know why we are offering the guy, then as more and more comes out on his games, he seems like a really good player, and towards the end we are all begging him to come to ISU. I hope we can just lock him up now before some of bigger schools come along.

Sometimes you're too worried on how good of an athlete the guy is, and forget about how good he is at basketball.

We all? Most were with it from the beginning.

I never questioned the recruitment of Georges at all. In fact, I didn't watch the video...didn't care. If we offered it means we want him. That's all I need to know. Now that I've read more I really want to land him.

I wish the weather didn't suck so bad for his visit but I'm guessing that would be a minimal factor if at all.

Here's a picture of Fran in his recruiting cloak. It's got +1 to Facilities.
