Your D Coordinator referred to Mabin as an 'NFL corner'.

If you watch the games, Greenwood and Sash weren't nearly as good as people presume. They played on good teams, Sash couldn't tackle and Greenwood couldn't close on coverage quick enough. People think Sash was great because of his INT numbers but he just happened to be in the right place at the right time, anyone could have made the majority of those plays. He could have called for fair catch on most of his INT's.

I don't have an O Coordinator.
Sash was a two time first team all Big Ten safety and good enough to be drafted after his junior year. And yes he could tackle. Greenwood was very solid and made few mistakes.

Sash left after his junior year and got drafted but wasn't that good?

Worse players than him have been drafted before and better players than him have gone undrafted.

He played special teams for 2 years and then was cut. Fletcher, Consodine, Pagel, Paschal, Johnson were all better Safety's for Iowa but none of them have the same recognition.

Sash is a safety. When you play a bend but don't break defense it's pretty easy for the safety's to sit back and pickup INT's

First, I realized my typo right after I posted it, hence the edit. But I'm not surprised you glossed over that. Second, do you honestly believe that?

Fletcher and Johnson were corners, so yeah, Sash was a better safety than them. Sash was an amazing player at Iowa...much better than Taylor is now and it's not even close man.

This thread is dumb. You can't compare apples to oranges.

I like apples and I like oranges, but if I had to choose one to eat for a snack I'd pick an Apple. Oranges are a hassle because you have to peel it, and if not done correctly you might get a citric acid squirt in the eye.

Also not all apples are the same. If you have a honeycrisp or fuji then it's a no brainer but those red delicious are Crap.

Dan also said Uthoff was a better college player than Niang so don't take too much stock into his opinions

Sash played on good teams, but between Spievey and Hyde he was never even the best DB on Iowa's roster.
Sash has played a lot more to this point than Taylor, but Taylor is MUCH more athletic, along with Lomax than Sash and Greenwood, and combined with our two NFL caliber corners I say this is the best secondary Iowa has had for some time.

Did Iowa even have anyone on their secondary get any preseason pub?

Well you won't have long to be proven right or wrong because unlike big ten teams isu can actually throw the ball. Your dbacks will be tested all day unlike last week. Good luck.

Nobody's worried about Richardson. And unlike B12, B10 plays D. ... I didn't realize Ohio State or Michigan State couldn't throw the ball. Connor Cook has a good chance at being the first QB taken in the draft, and Cardale is a freak of nature.

Can't wait to see Iowa's elite secondary shut them down!
