Radiohead at Grant Park Chicago summer 2001 was amazing.

Jeff Mangum from Neutral Milk Hotel in 2012 in the Twin Cities.

Black Keys at U of Iowa 2010 was a great show.

That DMB show was terrible!

Best shows: Lamb of God last year in Council Bluffs and 2003 Tool in CR for the Lateraulus tour

I think I'm going to wait for Killers to be at Bonnaroo before I go back (fingers are crossed for next year) but I'm seeing them with Gogol Bordello and Queens of the Stone Age on Aug. 3rd at Cricket Wireless in KC. Anyone who hasn't seen them really needs too.

I'm heading to this one as well. I'm pretty jacked up about it to say the least. Have never been to a Queens of the Stone Age show. Hope The Killers play a heavy dose of their older stuff which I'm more of a fan of. Those of you that have seen The Black Keys, I'm jealous. Would have loved to see them in a small venue right before they hit it big.

I may have to amend my worst concert from my earlier post. I forgot I saw Eddie Money at People's in DM a few years back. He was like a walking zombie. I can't recall for certain, but it seemed like he played one of his songs twice.

Flogging Molly at the now closed Beaumont Club in KC was phenomenol! Prefaced with Irish carbombs and a great group of friends. Just about perfect. Most of my favorites were all smaller venues: BB King, Jimmy Buffet, Blue October, Sevendust, Offspring. Best stadium show was when little known Godsmack opened for Metallica in Rockford, IL. Oh, and Dropkick Murphys absolutely bring it every time I've seen them.

My first concert was also cool. Saw Kiss when I was 10. The doors opened the surge of people pressed together so tightly that I was lifted off my feet and I didn't hit the floor till I got up in the pit area. Great start to my concert going

Queen "North America Bites the Dust' Tour - Hilton 1980 hands down...nothing I had seen before or since has even come close.

To hear the late Freddie Mercury say 'Hello Ames, Iowa....Home of the CYCLONES' really sent everyone into a frenzy!

Aerosmith came close (seen them twice) but no cigar.

And...I had the great honor escorting my Mother (R.I.P.) to a Neil Diamond concert...Sweet Caroline was awesome!

Damn... Wish I could go back and see Queen

Best Concerts--
Thought they would be good and they rocked -- slipknot, kiss (originals w/ makeup), motley crue - theatre of pain, and kid rock
Didn't know what to expect and was fantastic -- P!nk
Worst concerts ever -- James Taylor - Like his music, just not a good live performer. Kenny Chesney - good songs, but guy is a tool w/ his super tight jeans and sleeveless t-shirt. ended up hanging out in the bar @ WF Arena

Beginning with favorite ...

1. The Who - '75
2. Aerosmith and Cheap Trick - '78
3. Boston and Sammy Hagar - '79
4. Bad Company - '79
5. Peter Frampton and Gin Blossoms - '09
6. Dennis DeYoung with the Des Moines Symphony - '04

Too many other great shows to mention.

Only concert where I unfortunately don't remember one note that was played: Foreigner, Head East, Little River Band - second weekend freshman year at Hilton.

The best concert I have ever been to was a free one. When I was either a Freshman or Sophomore in college Brooks and Dunn came to Ames for a concert and from what I heard ISU told them it would be sold it. It didn't so they gave free tickets to the students. Luckily for a few family members that were coming up that weekend all of us went. The opening acts were Josh Turner, key song Long Black Train, and Joe Nichols, key song She Only Smokes When She Drinks.

This is how good it was, my Dad attended with me and he said it was better than Elvis, AC DC and a few others.

Bruce Springsteen at hilton in 84 or 85 I was 7 but my mom got me tickets for my birthday. Some ISU college student put me on his shoulders and took me close to the stage. My ears hurt for a week but it was worth it.

Just saw Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros in Des Moines so that's fresh on my mind, I'll go with that.

I saw Fitz and the Tantrums last summer and they put on an awesome show.

Blink 182 on their reunion tour in Minneapolis was pretty epic, but nostalgia played a lot into that.

I've also seen Chevelle and Rise Against. Both pretty solid shows. Other than that just smaller venue stuff

By far and away for me it was Rage Against the Machine in 2007 at Alpine Valley in East Troy, WI. Say what you will about Zach de la Rocha's radical views, but these guys put on an insane show!

Bruce Springsteen.......4 nights.......L A Coliseum.......not sure of the year. 72,000 each night.

1997....Fleetwood Mac Reunion concert.....Warner Brothers Studios.....concert was the basis of "The Dance" album. Unbelievable night.

Over the years, I worked probably 250-300 concerts at a lot of venues.. These were by far the best I saw.
