I was 9th row on the pylon that Seneca Wallace ran over to beat Florida St. Oh wait, no instant replay....lack of quality refs....didn't get to burn the city.

1. ISU's first Big XII victory
2. Being Seneca's "the run" game
3. Fizer vs. Chris Mihm on ESPN

Haven't been to many sporting events non-ISU. I did go to a cubs game where Derrek Lee hit a grand slam and 3 run bomb. He used to be my favorite player.

The Okie State game last year easily wins. I've never had so many people ask me if I saw the game or was there in my life. My phone was blowing up as the game was going on.

"The Run" takes second. After it happened, I was like

non-ISU would be Vikes vs Broncos at the Dome. I don't remember the year, but was the game Moss caught a long pass and flipped the ball over his shoulder to a teammate as he was going down.

opening day in 98, Dodgers at Cards. McGwire hits a slam, his 1st hr in record breaking year

Other than ISU events I have been to a few NFL and MLB games but nothing stands out. The most memorable event would have to be Ames High ripping apart the team from Chicagoland in Hilton.

Way up there
marv seiler game vs Nebraska. comeback win vs OSU in hoops in 92, Hoiberg's freshman year

These are my 2 as well, the Okie St game this year gets more attention because it was televised and the media culture is so much different but there's much more parity in football today that at that time, the Nebraska game is more memorable to me because I've lived most of my life around Husker fans (who are hands down the most arrogant I've ever dealt with), and this knocked them down a peg or two...until the next season

1. Obviously ,it is Oklahoma state last year. I thought about not going because I had friends coming into town the next day, but basically went to keep my home game streak alive and for the senior night. Words can't really describe how perfec that night was. I still get chills when I watch the last quarter and OT.

2. I am not sure of the year, but it was the first year Joe Mauer won the batting title. The Twins were on fire that September and had worked their way to a wild card birth, but they had a chance with a good last weekend and a collapse by the Tigers (I think) to win the division. The Tigers were playing Kansas City that weekend, but they had lost 2 games. I was at the last game of the season. Mauer gets a hit to clinch the batting title and the Twins come from behind to win the game, but Detroit still has to lose. The entire game all of the fans were glancing at the Detroit score often and they had a big lead. Inning by inning the Royals cut into the lead. After the Twins won, they put the Detroit game on the big screen which had gone to extra innings and the entire crowd stuck around for probably an hour until the Royals had won. The entire crowd was cheering every Kansas City hit and Detroit strikeout. It was a really cool expirence.

3. Probably the 1992 OSU basketball game. I was only 12, but I still remember being pretty ticked off when Iowa State was down by 18 points at half and then just going crazy the whole second half.

So many to list but for me oklahoma state this year and NCAA tournament vs. Kentucky. The kentucky game was amazing. Besides the fact that iowa state lost it was great. Felt like I was at a kentuck home game with 22,000 fans chanting Go Big Blue! I still hate Kentucky though.

So much for following this rule, considering 3/4 of the following end up being ISU events.

For me, it was this:

Cleveland Indians vs. Minnesota Twins - Recap - August 14, 2009 - ESPN

August 14, 2009, Scott Baker went off for complete game, 2-hit, 5-KO shutout of the Indians. Most dominating pitching (and batting, as well) performance I have ever witnessed in person.
Oh well. I knew for some, ISU events would be the majority of memories they had. I was hoping to hear about memorable events that people attended that the majority of us were not at. I would say that has been happening. Most of those that have thrown ISU events in their posts, have also included non-ISU events they attended.

Troy Davis' 378 against Mizzou and the Texas Tech game with "the run."

I do have two other memorable ones, but they were memorable because both set the wrong kind of records. I was at Notre Dame stadium and witnessed them go 0-4 for the first time in the history of their football program against Michigan St. in 2007. It was very somber afterwards. And I also witnessed the Pirates clinch their record setting 17th consecutive losing season in 2009, making it the longest streak in any of the four professional sports. Those were definitely memorable.

2000 Florida State at Miami. It was at the Orange Bowl. What a dump. Both were top 5 teams. It was pretty uneventful for the 1st 3 quarters. The defenses on both sides were jsut amazing. We were sitting up towards the top and you could hear them popping. Again, FSU misses FG wide right and Miami wins the game.

2009 Florida at LSU. It was a night game on CBS. We got there at 8 am and spent all day on campus. I was pretty worn out by the time the game started. It didn't help that it had rained pretty much all day. It was my first exposure to women dressing up to go to a football game. We had good tickets for this one. The atmosphere inside the stadium was crazy. It was another low scoring game, but Florida won that one. I beleive it was Tebow's senior year. Both games I wore my Cyclone gear. I had no dog in the fight. You'd be amazed at how well it was received. Both places were really good.

Just a side note. We had passes for Gameday and got to meet the guys afterwards. My buddy took my picture with him just as he realized what shirt I was wearing. "Is that an Iowa State shirt? In all of the years I've been doing this, that is the first time I've seen someone wear that to one of these." It was awesome. My buddy and I jsut started laughing.
