Troy Davis' 378 against Mizzou and the Texas Tech game with "the run."

I do have two other memorable ones, but they were memorable because both set the wrong kind of records. I was at Notre Dame stadium and witnessed them go 0-4 for the first time in the history of their football program against Michigan St. in 2007. It was very somber afterwards. And I also witnessed the Pirates clinch their record setting 17th consecutive losing season in 2009, making it the longest streak in any of the four professional sports. Those were definitely memorable.

They snap that streak this year. BEAT 'EM BUCS!!!

Nebraska @ ISU 2010. Growing up in Nebraska and going to ISU, this game was always one I tried to get to, but living in Colorado had made it more difficult. My wife surprised me for my 30th birthday by flying the two of us out to the game, and a carload of others drove from CO. Got family from both sides and a ton of friends to come to the tailgate. Awesome day seeing everyone, and amazing game despite the final score.

Also saw in person:
ISU @ Nebraska 2009, 8 turnover win
ISU @ Nebraska 2005, 2overtime loss
The Run

US Open playoff (91?) Scott SImpson vs. Payne Stewart at Hazeltine in Minnesota.

1983 Eastern Conference finals game 5 - Sixers vs. Bucks. Sixers won at home to move on to beat LA in the finals. 12 rows from court, Dr. J, Moses Malone, Andrew Toney....awesome.

I also saw an NL Championship series game, Phillies vs. Dodgers, and game 5 of the World Series, Phillies vs. Orioles, at about that same time period. Not a huge Phillies fan but still cool because of the situation.

Okie lite last year. That will be with me forever...:spinny:

@ Iowa in '02. That was the first time I had gone to a college football game, and I was a freshman in HS. My girlfriends' parents bought the tickets and we sat together in the north endzone. The two guys in front of me (early 30's) were absolutely hammered, and after the game wanted to fight me. I just laughed at them and walked away.

Those really are the only two that stand out to me.

My alma mater won the 1999 D2 National Championship in 4OT after making a 15 point comeback late in the 4th quarter. Easily the most exciting game I've seen in person (sadly I wasn't at the OSU game). This is why I can't wait for a playoff in D1.

I also saw A-Roid strike out 4 times in one game. That was nice too.

In person has to be the ISU FSU game down in KC in 01. I was only 10 at the time, but I still remember the whole trip. We tailgated for 12 hours and we got free tickets to the Royals Twins game where I fought for a foul ball with some old guy. Had the damn thing in my hands and he ripped it out like a piece of meat. A lot of other fans were pretty PO'd about him taking it from a kid.

I was in 7th grade, Urbandale @ Johnston basketball, must have been in 1999. HUGE rivalry, Johnston was down 2 and had 1 second to go the length of the court. Mike Cameron caught a baseball pass at half-court and hit a 45-foot turnaround jumper to win the game as time expired. Then I almost died when we all rushed the court.

That OK State game last year was pretty good too...

No particular order, some of the coolest I've witnessed in person:

-TD 378
-ISU beats Michigan 72-69 in 1986
-ISU wins last Big 8 Championship 1996
-TD goes over 2k the first time at Mizzou

An ALMOST:

Saw Mark Gubicza (sp?) almost throw a perfect game in KC, I think he went 7 2/3 perfect or something like that.

Obviously the Ok St. and Iowa games from last year are way up there, but non-ISU....

1. Game 6 Celtics vs. Bulls 2009 Eastern Conference Qtr Finals. Bulls beat my Celts in 3OT. Crazy game, crazy environment, some of the best, most intense basketball I've ever seen.

2. Packers vs. Raiders MNF in Oakland the night after Favre's dad died. Still the greatest individual performance I've ever seen. Still have the ticket stub.

3. Packers vs. Vikings the day that Favre broke the NFL TD record.

In high school, we had a guy who looked like a 6'4" Darryl Dawkins ("Chocolate Thunder") who smashed a backboard just like Dawkins. It was amazing to see in person and a little scary with all the pieces of glass in his back.

2003 NLCS Cubs vs. Marlins - Game 2. Cubs won big and saw Sammy Sosa hit one of the longest HRs ever (or so it seemed). Atmosphere was crazy!!

I watched Iowa's heavyweight national champion Lou Banach get pinned by a major underdog from ISU (Dave Osenbaugh) which allowed ISU to defeat Iowa in wrestling in 1981. That was the loudset Hilton has ever been BY FAR in my 30+ years of following the Cyclones.

1. ISU beating Okie St. last year.
2. Nebraska beating ISU in 2010 (was best game I'd ever been to until No. 1, even though we lost).
3. Super Bowl XXXIV. Kurt Warner beats the Titans. Comes down to the last play.

I wasn't there, but I can only imagine how awesome this would be.
