I get around
This is a completely different situation. We should have won these last 2 games and instead we choked them both away and looked like **** when we could have been competing for a conference title. We just haven't learned anything since the start of the season. We just keep letting ourselves get burned by not playing defense and choking away leads. The Oklahoma game is going to define how we finish this season.

I'm afraid this season has already been defined.

In the spirit of this thread......
We can win the NCAA tourney too.

Ooooo, I hate it when those flying monkeys get stuck in my butt.

Last year's team lost back to back games against Baylor and K-State near the end of the season then won 6 in a row. Most people on this site liked our chances to win more than 6 in a row if Niang doesn't get hurt. We will be fine.

Comparing this team to last year's squad is just plain foolish. On top of skill/talent, that team had heart and toughness...stemming from leadership from a guy like DeAndre Kane. This team has NONE of that.

You nailed it. My concern as well. Had to laugh at the middle east comment as well. Perhaps, just perhaps, if we consolidate the period of time we must focus (to three days), that will help?

But that's not true - because it was self inflicted mistakes in some of those games. People sensationalize everything - the good and the bad. No one going into the tournament gave us a shot to win it because of how ISU played.

This team, thus far, has not closed games like last year's team did - that much is accurate. Both teams had flaws tho and last year's team found their best play at the perfect time.

I am encouraged this team will do the same. Last few weeks have been one helluva grind.

After watching the last two games, you're encouraged that this team is suddenly going to figure it all out inside of a week? Wow, just wow

Even if we win out, I think we may end up being the 4 seed based on tie-breakers. But that's where we were at last year too.

People sniveled the same thing last season after a pair of February losses. And they were thumping their flabby chests hard while sitting on their beanbag chairs during the first half of that home OSU game too - pronouncing that ISU team was toast.

Same exact things were said last season.

Does that automatically mean this team will do as well as last year's? No.

It does prove the program/staff/players have the ability to do that - and that is why I am not giving up like some are so quick (and seem happy) to do.

MIght fall into place...

If Alexander ends up ineligible, we can consider that this year's Joel Embiid injury....

So much great in this thread, but this post sums it up well. Turns out this team actually has ALL of the heart and toughness of last years team ... and more.

Just goes to show how dumb it looks to overreact after a few losses.
