Is it a high school event? If no, they're serving beer.Does anyone know if they are serving beer for the games?
Is it a high school event? If no, they're serving beer.
And this is a terrible concept. If they cleared out the arena and did games at say 1pm and 5pm I'd change my stance, but as it stands, this is a terrible format.
Does anyone know if they are serving beer for the games?
So, you plan on staying for a full game, the hour in between games, and another full game for two teams you don't care about? sure...
That's exactly what I'd do. I went to the NCAA tournament a couple years ago, stayed all day watching 8 teams I didn't give a **** about. It was fun. If you're paying for both games, might as well get your moneys worth.
So, you have to pay for both games? I've been to the NCAA tournament and i'm not sure how you can compare them. The NCAA tournament is...the NCAA tournament.
But my real questions is, do you have to pay for both games?
I don't see the comparison to the NCAA tournament, either. In the very loose sense, sure, you're paying for a whole session. On the real side, that whole session is filled with games that really matter and the drama of someone's season coming to an end. This is just 4 teams in November.
I stopped following the Cyclones last year after the Drake game because pretty much everyone on CF was telling me that their season was over.
I'm pumped for this event, there's no such thing as too much college basketball. Sure it may not be a sold out crowd but its 4 teams that care about beating each other. I think it'll take a few years to really hit its stride but eventually it will be a really cool event. Like it or not both ISU and Iowa have positive momentum right now, imagine in a few years if one or both teams are rated, this will be a tough ticket.
They are handing out 130 free tickets to Iowa State students for this. I signed up for one but I'm not guaranteed to get one.
Clue me in on what that means. No sarcasm, just don't know what exempt event means.
