Ball handling will continue to be a problem. Who can force up a shot will be a huge question mark. Defense will be fine. The offense will be the laggard. If you cannot get 65 every game, it will force you into other scenarios.

You dont think we will have any scorers playing? Somehow I doubt that. I think they gathered some offense threats in the guys we got. Will they be consistant against top teams, probably not. But I am not doubting the talent coming in.

I want to beleive that we will be able to keep up but I just don't see it. Sure we have a decent class coming in but every team in the league beleives they have a good class coming in. We don't have a guy that can 'bail us out' like we have in the past.

We'll be in the top 8 for sure....Would not surprise me to see us in the top half....just my opinion after watching our guys play this summer....save this thread and I'll see you in March. We are very much under the radar, right where we need to be.

Not saying we have no chance. I'm jus tnot making any guarantees. I can't wait for basketball.

Athlon's also picked us dead last in the Big 12. Just more bulletin board material.

People are crazy if they think we won't miss Mike. He was instant offense, and the only player like that on the team last year. We're counting on all new guys again, and the schedule is tougher. I just hope they are a game or 2 over .500 and then go from there.

I don't think our young guards need to look up to someone who plays about as undisciplined basketball outside of And 1, doesn't go to class, and can't stay out of trouble.

Just out of curiosity, were you really excited about Taylor's scoring ability at this point last year (before seeing him play)? I get frustrated by so many people assuming that the new recruits (that are all higher touted coming in than anybody we had last year, including Taylor) aren't going to be able to create anything on their own.

The problem that we had last year when we did not involve Mike Taylor was we passed the ball around and no one left was athleticd to force/make a shot. Our passing was slower than the defense recovering. Jiri is not the final solution. Wesley can be defsnsed with a bigger person on him. We need someone who is a gutty gyard and can make quick decisions and is somewhat unpredictable. Then our players will be better. Just an opinion. Hope our new guards are as good as Curtis or Blaylock or Mike. They need to be for us to be better.

I don't think we'll be last either but if we are, I want to see this.
Man, I hope they aren't last! I agree with everyone that we will miss Taylor, but last year everyone was learning a new system. While there will be all new players in the guard court, there are at least several players on the team that have been through a good year of it, and instead of everyone learning all at once, some of the vets can help out.

Last year we went into the season and Hubalek was shooting 3's we had not significant returners in the back court and had a bunch of question marks for recruits. McDermitt was able to significantly improve Hubalek's game, find a Gem in Hubalek and allow Taylor to play to his strengths.

This year we have Wesley coming back. Hubalek a year stronger and some question marks in the back court. I realize this isn't going to be one of our best teams, but I don't think that McDermit is capable of coaching a team to last place. We will be in the 2nd year of the system and will finish above 8th.
