7 teams in the Big 12 with an average seed of 5.86
6 teams in the Big 10 with an average seed of 6.00
I think a good way to look at it is did the teams play to seed. As a conference the Big Xii played to a -2 rounds. (i.e. 1 seed should be a final four, 2 seed elite 8. 3,4 seeds sweet sixteen 5-8 should win thier first game. on average that means they played out just short of expectations.
Not too bad with 3 star players getting hurt and out for the rest of the tournament. KU is almost always over-rated and most years the rest of the Big XII does well to overcome their early exit. But Baylor was good for a +1 and ISU overcame losing Georges to play to seed.
Currently, The Big 10 is as healthy as its been all year. They should play past their seeds. I think that they will. They are currently even and playing exactly to seed level with 3 opportunites to play past seeding. Pretty good but considering The improved health and re-acclimation to new (imo equal) players (Michigan) it isn't a surprise at all. They are almost exactly what everyone thought. Big XII deeper and better overall, but BIG 10 right there and very top heavy.
