Please merge with the ACC. Add Louisville and Pitt to the big 12 division and have a conference championship game. Play everyone in basketball and 9 in football and force the SEC PAC and BIG10s hand for a change.
That's an intriguing thought.
* Tell Notre Dame to get bent
* Four six-team divisions.
* Play five games against the teams in your division every year.
* Play three games against another division, and rotate that division every year. A school will have played every other team in the conference once every six years. Not great, but hey, at least we're still in P5 right?
* Play a ninth game against yet another division-- the team that finished in the same place in their division as you did in yours. (1 vs 1, 2 vs 2, 3 vs 3, etc.)
* The two #1 teams that win their ninth game play each other in the conference championship game.
Is it possible to play 23 conference basketball games? If not, double-round robin against your division (10 games) plus one game against every team in another division (6 games) and rotate the division your division plays against every year.
