The downfall of this program is going to show immensely next season. Will look like the 90's in that renovate JTS.

Honestly, I'm genuinely curious, what would you do with this program? Do think what CPR has done the past two years is acceptable, or is cancelled out by his first years?

Do you think ISU is in position to go to a bowl game with this setup? Do you think CPR has been even an average decision maker in his time here, and especially the past two years? Both coaching and staff decisions.

IMO, the first years of CPR has shown me that he does have the ability to coach and win games. And is able to pull off big wins in places we have never won before.

I am not happy with the wins we have had the last 2 years. But I would give him the opportunity to coach this fall for a whole number of reasons.

As far as decisions go, I would say that CPR has made some good and some bad decisions.....like any coach. I would say that Iowa State has no margin for error. No margin for serious injuries. No margin for recruiting mistakes. The next football season will give us our answer as to whether CPR will be our coach in the future. Until that time, I will remain optimistic and positive. If CPR does well, then I will support his continuing coaching. If CPR does not do well, then I will support the decision made concerning his coaching future at Iowa State.

As far as a bowl game is concerned, Yes. We can make a bowl game.

I've been a supporter for over 30 years but CPR is reminding me of a public school teacher. Your kids are too immature/feel entitled translates to CPR's excuse that we are too young. Then you look at TCU, West Virginia, and Pitt all playing tons of under class-men. Teacher's blame low test scores on home environments and the standardized tests are unfair. CPR blames his touch schedule, etc. Yet he is losing to FCS teams mutiple times. I could keep going but you get it.

We would have better teachers if we pay for performance. Same thing with CPR. We are paying him a premium and school should expect a level of performance on par with his compensation.

Bad comparison. If you have kids that feel entitled that's not really the teachers responsibility.

Since the odds seem better for a conference opponent hanging 100 points on us before we see our next winning season....yeah. Coaching change should be on the table.

How many times have you heard "that player xyz has bought into the program" or something similar. Teachers are way too quick to play the entitled card. I do agree that this generation is too high on the entitled scale.

To avoid derailing this thread I'm not going to respond. You can PM me if you want to continue this discussion.

The reason I ask is that the coach I am speaking of has just been hired by Nebraska as their Head Coach.

Either fully support the team. Or shut up. What you are doing does not help the Cyclones. That is just telling you the truth.

You are not making any headway.

Really don't care whether I make headway. But those constantly being negative should not try to BS the rest of us that they fully support the Iowa State Cyclones. Fully supporting this team means "fully supporting" them and not "conditionally supporting" them.

It was not a very timely article. Blum knew this would happen today. No defense for the staff at this point.

Not that there was any defense for the staff a couple of days ago....when this article was written
