Well he is a head coach, thats what he's paid to do. Sorry I won't take a message board posters opinion over a coach. And who did you want to bring in to be head coach mr. all high and mighty? I think Boozer got his fair share of minutes. Its not like we were keeping an all american on the bench. I'm willing to bet there stuff behind the scenes whether its in practice or off the court that is preventing him from gaining more minutes. Just because Gmac doesn't share everything that happens with you is no reason to attack him. But I know you don't like Gmac anyways so why waste my time? Have fun living in your own little world where everything is Gmacs fault. The difference between lucca and boozer is really that not big, i'd even give a slight advantage to lucca because he is more of an offensive threat, but defensive skill of both need to be improved vastly. Just because a guy hustles doesn't mean he should start, I'm pretty sure Lucca hustles too.
I just pictured you doing a Z snap when you said Mr. All High and Mighty.

Wrong. Vanderbeken shot better from beyond the arc...

JVB didn't start or play nearly the same amount that Lucca did. JVB rode the pine a good amount at parts during the season cause his defense and rebounding were non-existent, but then he caught fire with his shooting for a few games. But good try.

I can understand why he might be disappointed about not getting more, but I am not sure it is on the coaches.

I don't know what went on in practices, but when Boozer went into the games I saw, he hustled, he crashed the boards, and he was about the closest thing ISU had last year (besides Brackins) to a physical Big-12 caliber physique. Given the disaster that was last year, how a coach cannot find more than 8 min/game for somebody like that is beyond me.

I am not arguing for or against Boozers minutes. I am arguing against making a hustle guy feel like he's unappreciated, when we had several players show a lack of effort on the court.

How do you know he isn't appreciated? FFS.
Its obvious you don't like Gmac so I'm not going to bother. Transfers happen all over because players dont get minutes. I'll wish Boozer the best of luck if he does leave, but until then he's still a cyclone.

My name isn't shanequa! :jimlad:

Why do you think he was made to feel unappreciated? And who wasn't putting an effort out there last year?

One of the things that was just so sad about last year is that you really felt that the team wanted to win. I saw a lot of hustle from everyone last year.

Vanderbeken shot 86 3 pointers in 469 minutes
Lucca shot 192 3 pointers in 768 minutes

If we extrapolated Vanderbeken's attempts in the same number of minutes, it'd be 140 attempts.

If you take attempts/minute type of a stat, it's not wildly off. It's not like Vanderbeken only shot 10 3s the whole year and made 4....

I like Boozer and understand he is a fan favorite, but people need to calm down. IF, and its a big if, he is leaving...we are losing a guy that plays 8 minutes per game and scores 2.5 and rebounds 1.6. Yes he hustled and definitely helps the team but please don't act like the sky is falling because we are losing the 8th or 9th guy off the bench.

And if you have JVB play 300 more minutes I don't believe he could shoot as solid as he did when he was in great shooting form. He would have cooled off eventually, or gone in spurts like Lucca did.
