TCU was a longshot anyways, I'm now cheering for Memphis to beat UCF as a fall back option so we don't play them in the Liberty Bowl.

Well, with UCF winning hopefully we are not going to Memphis to play a home team.

I can't come up with a logical scenario where we go anywhere besides the Liberty Bowl. I guess maybe the Liberty Bowl picking West Viginia or K-State over us, but that seems unlikely.

TCU is pretty well locked into the Alamo. Texas is either going to Camping World or Texas bowl (for story lines/revenue) with Oklahoma St. going to the other.

We. Are. Iowa. State.

Finally make a bowl, and it will be against Memphis on their home field, and knowing our luck, probably 40 degrees and raining.

I still think TCU plays in NY6

Good thing is hotels will open up.

So assuming things play out, its looking like this?
CFP - OU
Alamo - TCU
Houston - Texas/OSU
Orlando - Texas/OSU
Liberty - ISU
Etc...

Too bad TCU laid an egg today as they likely wont be selected for a NY6 bowl and bump everybody up a slot.

I guess don’t finish 1-3 down the stretch and you don’t have to worry about

6-6 Texas is jumping at least three teams. There is nothing that says finishing better would have helped us. Couldn’t hurt, but “don’t have to worry about” is a stretch.

That's college football for you. All about $$ and nothing else.

So would Pollard be doing any sort of lobbying to try to avoid the Liberty? If so, what does that look like?

No, he's been lobbying FOR the Liberty all week.

And to think, people on here were actually complaining about a possible ND-ISU matchup in Orlando earlier this week.
