Brackens

If he "knows how to win games at this level" he has a funny way of showing it. I don't think the evidence supports your claim.

Oh, and all he needs is a good offense? So you mean basically half his team needs fixing now that the entire program is his? That's all?

His victories over ranked teams alone prove he knows how to win at this level. His back to back wins over Texas Tech prove he knows how to win at this level. His victory at Nebraska and near victory at home prove he knows how to win at this level.

And the defense will fix themselves. They are young and frankly were destined to have a down year. They do a lot of things well, but teams have exploited their inability to stop the run up the middle and it's shown. Next year with a more experienced group I don't think they'll have any huge weaknesses.

Jim Walden beat ranked teams, too. Was he a good football coach?

CPR beat Texas Tech twice in a row...so what? Tech was 13-12 over those two seasons.

Nebraska handed us the 2009 game. And did you really just claim that losing the 2010 game shows he knows how to win? Think about that one for a moment. Madness.

Winning at this level doesn't mean you get a nice win here and there. This is big boy football.

It does when you're trying to build a program up from almost nothing and get a big win a year. On top of that, the moral victories certainly mean something. Betting the conference champion in 2011 and taking the conference champion down to the wire in 2012 go for something.

This team is an average OC away from being 6-3, IMO. Once Rhoads hires that average or above average OC we'll find out if I'm right.

I think 6-3 might be a bit of a stretch but I agree with the premise. Even with the absolutely horrible, no good, very bad offensive game planning and leadership we were still in the Texas, Texas Tech, and TCU games right up to the end. If our offense was actually prepared during the week and given a viable gameplan then who knows.

LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!

6-3 is probably a stretch. I forgot I added Texas Tech in there. Tell me 5-4 wouldn't be possible though. That would be wins over UNI, Iowa, Texas, and TCU. Figure the offense each of those game could muster up one touchdown and that in turn would prevent the defense from tiring as quickly and keep the momentum in Iowa State's favor. Is that a good example for everyone, or will the Doctor just keep LOLing?

That choice basically lost us that game (along with Lenz and Woody)

Gage's play did not cost us on Tavon Austin's TD in the 4th quarter. A.J. Klein was out of position to start, had to check the play when Austin was in motion, and didn't get to his gap in time after the pass. His angle forced a pick on Gage and allowed Austin to get by for the TD.

Heard this verbatim from more one coach this off season.

Fact is, Gage might very well be a better safety than Brackens.

History says no. I don't believe you and the Kool-aid..but I will gladly say I was wrong if that is the case.

My guess is that will not come to pass.

*marked for future reference*

You should drop the ******* banner, dude. Oh wait....you carry it for the bb team and perhaps a few other sports you say? Well, you sure as hell spend a whole lot of time on the fb forum. You are a complete toxic waste dump, yourself.

The posters pushing the Fire Rhoads agenda are the same who hated Hoiberg. In fact they're still lurking... waiting for him to stumble... and then they'll pounce!

That is such a ******** question, and you know it.

He's not running a company, he's running a football team. You don't get landscape architects fired up to go out there and make a great hedge maze. You don't need to be able to get your drivers frothing at the mouth to shuttle prom-goers. But being able to fire up a group of players is key to being successful as a football coach. Especially when you're overcoming a talent gap.

If you think the players are tired of CPR's antics, then you weren't watching the defense today. They were pumped, hungry, and angry, after having gotten a **** ton of points hung on them the last 4 weeks. That's CPR. That's CPR getting those kids up to hold TCU to 21 points (14 of which they earned).

CPR didn't lose the team at half time. According to Nealy, he had the locker room with tears in their eyes, motivated to go out and take someone's head off for Bruns. That was CPR. That touchdown on the kickoff, according to Nealy, was because he wanted to make CPR proud.

But you're going to tell me that CPR has lost the team?

And no, the fan base is not turning on CPR. A few dozen jackholes on a message board are screaming like spoiled children who had their favorite toy taken away while they were at Grandma's house have turned against him.

The rest of Cyclone Nation is still pretty firmly behind our coach. At least 54,900+ of us.

And that's a good thing!

People are crazy and arent living in reality if you think that just changing the OC would have gotten them 5 more wins.

5 wins, no. But maybe an at least half way WATCHABLE offense, one that could actually be considered suitable for television viewing. Not this straight-up embarrassment that we've been witness to all season long. 5 wins, certainly not. The injury excuse, although overly leaned upon, is an accurate one to explain for a few of the losses this year. A drop-off in talent and lack of stocked cupboards is another huge part of it. But no reason to believe a different OC could have us with at least a couple more wins at this point, as too often they leave the defense out to dry which leads to Oklahoma State hanging 58 on us, and KSU putting up 41. Those 2 games are much closer and possibly have different outcomes with a competent OC behind the wheel. Same argument could be made for the Iowa game.

We have lost 5 games by 8 points or less. It's a stretch, but I don't think suggesting a competent OC would get us more wins is ridiculous. Once again, 5 more wins at this point is a stretch, but we are basically talking about 1 more touchdown each game, and then a slightly better ability to control the ball and play the field position game.
