Sims, A-Rob, and AA can not be break out players. They have already broke out. Break out player means someone that is not expected to have a a big contribution, or has been held back by something. AA is a 3 year starter at QB, does not qualify in my book.

Break out player on offense will be Sedrick Johnson. Hopefully. It is time to live up to hype.

On defense I choose Matt Tauffou(sp). The guy will make a huge impact this fall.

I disagree (particularly in regards to AA)

Whereas, he has been our starting quarterback, he has not yet put up the kind of numbers or performances that I expect (and hope) he will.

His career passing numbers of (445-741) 60% 5,074 yds, 29 TD / 24 INT ... aren't going to get the job done in 2010.

He needs to have a season like (288-432) 67% 3,500 yds, 24 TD / 6 INT ... if we are going to win like I want us too.

THAT would be a break out season in my book.

I agree except for with AA. He can do a hell of a lot better, especially in a spread offense.

I would sure as **** hope its Mahoney. He left himself plenty of room after last season. The more logical choices: Arnaud, Reynolds, Darks, LJ, anyone on the D-Line

I look for AJ Klein and Knott to have breakout years. Hopefully McDonough as well.

On offense, I look for a receiver to have a breakout year. Either Money, Sed Johnson, or possibly Young if he is as good as advertised.

Arm strength is not an issue for Arnaud. Take a look at the KU game from two seasons ago. He hits Sumrall on a deep out to the opposite of the field. Touch, accuracy, and decision-making have been an issue.
His decision making has been AA's Achilles' heel for some time, but, for once, he doesn't have to learn a new system from scratch. I believe we will see much better decision making from AA this year.

Yeah, I am very anxious to see McDonough play at 289. He could be a good one. Think Jordan Carstens.

Offense
Arnaud- I have never questioned his arm strength or decision making. I thas been 100% timing and mechanics. 90% of his INT's are overthrows due to mechanics. His timing was much, much better in the bowl game and if he wouldn't have had two overthrows (mechanics) we would have thought he had a great game.

Money- Arnaud will need someone to make plays in order for him to have a great season

Defense
McDonough- If he has "the twitch" like we have heard, then he could be the disruptive force we are looking for on the DL. At worse he will eat up double teams
Klein- I have loved this guy since I saw his recruiting video.
