Let’s not compare him to Thomas yet. Matt was an absolute sniper.I think Caleb has lots of upside here before his career is over. A more athletic Matt Thomas.
I’ll also be interested to see how his return affects the recruitment of freak athlete and stud ‘23 QB Avery Johnson, from Caleb’s HS.

Matt had about as perfect of form as you can have.Let’s not compare him to Thomas yet. Matt was an absolute sniper.
“Compare” and “equate” are not the same thing.Let’s not compare him to Thomas yet. Matt was an absolute sniper.
It's still being calibrated. Will be ready soon.Idk guys. What’s his defensive box score rating? That’s a thing we gauge now.

CW said somewhere that there is obscure NCAA rule that players transferring back to their prior school are immediately eligible. Pretty sure he was serious too.I thought all players that are transferring for their first time are immediately eligible. I don't know about players transferring for their second time.
This comparison needs to stop. Thomas is in the NBA.Let’s not compare him to Thomas yet. Matt was an absolute sniper.
He plays outside the box. When the Grill heats up, the box gets torched.Idk guys. What’s his defensive box score rating? That’s a thing we gauge now.

While I agree, Grill actually shot a better percentage from 3 as a sophomore than Thomas did as a sophomore. Matt took a big jump after his first two seasons. That said, Grill is more than capable of being a dependable threat. This comparison needs to stop. Thomas is in the NBA.
Caleb's brother Kyle (6'6" Junior PG) was on the state championship team this year, so he's worth keeping an eye on also. And of course their dad Chris coached the championship team, so maybe we're lining up our next assistant coach.I think Caleb has lots of upside here before his career is over. A more athletic Matt Thomas.

When Caleb says this, " I can’t wait to be re-united with former teammates and continue to learn and grow as a player..." I think the slates about clear. Are there any former Cyclone 'teammates' of his left? The only one I can name is George Conduit. Anyone else?@ChrisMWilliams @JStanz51 is Grill eligible to play in the 21-22 season with this being his second transfer? I know the ncaa rule is immediate eligibility for players transferring their first time.
Javan would have been redshirting. Tre Jackson would be the only other left I believe. When Caleb says this, " I can’t wait to be re-united with former teammates and continue to learn and grow as a player..." Yes. You're right. He'll know atleast a couple of faces then. |
2.0 has to be better than 1.0 which was weak. Can’t say I fully understand but if TJ wants him that’s all I need. Hard worker. Hope he will be a spark off the bench for the next 2-3 years.
Matt Thomas is in the NBA. I see no comparison at this point. Hope he proves me wrong.I think Caleb has lots of upside here before his career is over. A more athletic Matt Thomas.

And JohnsonHe says he’s looking forward to reuniting with his old teammates. It’s sad/funny that that only refers to Jackson and Condit.
