You claim to have seen him play, yet McKay is your player comparison? Lol

He compared their size, not playing style.

Anyway, some on here act like Malou is a wing, which he is not, IMO. He's 6'9" and a pretty decent shot blocker. Just because he has handles and a 3 point shot, doesn't mean he can't guard posts.

Probably the best way to describe him is a stretch-4. We've had a lot of times where our 5, was really a stretch-4 and I would assume if we don't land a grad transfer post, that's exactly where Malou will play next year.

There is no comparison to Malou and McKay's skill set offensively. Malou has 3 point range, so if his game compares to anyone it is Niang. The second issue is your projecting Burton to start at PF. That is crazy. First, based on this years play, he isn't consistent enough to start. Second, he hasn't shown to be a good rebounder.

If I had to guess Carter or Ernst will be our center. Maybe they split minutes. I also see the possibility of our signing a JUCO or transfer to play post.

Wait, Burton hasn't shown enough to start, but you are projecting Carter or Ernst will? LOL

So about Cameron Lard, hopefully on the 29th we find out that he's back and playing. I think he's the sleeper of the class. Not getting much love from anyone but he's top 150 on Rivals, 4 star on 247 and a 4 star on ESPN. He could be somewhat similar to McKay rebounding and shot blocking wise.

We are bringing in a 5, obviously.

Obviously you don't know that. I'm sure the plan is to bring in a 5, but grad transfer post players are highly competitive.

I think we all want to see a grad transfer brought in. Time will tell if we're able to find one. We won't be the only team in the market for such a player.

Its not a difficult concept, Burton is not a post player. End of story. He might have the pounds, but not the height to play big minutes inside in Big12 play. Even with his bulk, I haven't seen much physical play on defense from Burton this year.

The other reason is age. Burton is 22. He should improve next year, but the chances of drastic improvement aren't likely. Compare that to Ernst who will be 19 this spring and Carter who will be 20. The potential for those guys to improve significantly during the offseason is good. They don't need to develop into scorers in the offseason, but guys who can be physical defenders and rebounders. We should be able to get plenty of offensive scoring punch out of our other 4 positions.

That lineup gets pounded inside in the Big XII.

Malou has to be our 4 with Burton playing the 3 and a little 4.

If we don't get another big we'd be better off rotating the ones we have at the 5 eating fouls instead of Malou.
Hope that's not the case and we sign a Juco or a SR Grad.

Dont forget S Young he is playing really well. he will make an impact next year.

Yep, guys don't show big improvement later in their college career.
-signed Matt Thomas
I will say this, don't sleep on Young. A lot of potential and if Lard makes it, gives us another. I do hope Carter makes huge strides in the off season. I hear he is always going after it in practice. Hopefully the hard work pays off for him.

I just hope both Malou and Lard are eligible so we can even have this discussion next preseason.

I do think that theyll get a SR eligible big and if not a JUCO like Bol. My guess:

PG: Morris
SG: Jackson
SF: Thomas
PF: Malou
C: transfer

Naz, Babb, Burton, Ernst and Carter coming off the bench. That's a good team.

Serious? Another starting 5 with 2 year starter Naz coming off the bench?
Switch Jackson and Naz first of all, Ernst will play after Carter and Young I'm betting.
And Cooke will be up further on the depth chart next year.

So if we already have all the scholarships filled how are we getting a transfer big? assuming Lard makes it.
