Why does everyone keep bringing up the only coach in modern Iowa State football with three eight-win seasons in a row. Yes, let's keep attacking him to divert the discussion. That same guy who holds the record for the largest margin of win over Iowa and did it with a back-up QB no less.

All moan and groan about how hard it is for little ol ISU to compete in the world of NIL in today's world......let's be reminded Bruce was doing this when there was no scholarship limitations to hold the Barry Switzer's and Tom Osborne's of the world in check. Let alone the money they were throwing around. Like I said......CMC is a good coach.....he is no Earle Bruce.

What a horrible take. 2021 was the most disappointing season in the history of ISU FB. If we had taken care of business and won 10-11 games, we would be in a great position right now. Now we will be lucky to beat Ohio in two days. You need to capitalize on your opportunities or they pass you by.

Complaining about Campbell’s offense and 2021’s underachievement are 2 different things. The offense did enough to win Baylor, WVU and Tech that season. That would have put ISU in the CCG.

Imagine watching 2 to 3 more years of this.

Did you enjoy McDermott's time at ISU?

I want Campbell to get his act together and try different things now.

Let the offense have some actual fun. Make the game interesting to watch.

Be unpredictable and creative.

If he isn't willing to do that, are you really fine with paying him $8 to $12 million dollars for more of this?

So if we fire Campbell would you leave and never come back? Otherwise I’ll stick with Campbell.

Earle Bruce was a very good coach. But he never beat Oklahoma. Never won more than 8 games in a season. Played 4 non-conference games. Iowa was only on our schedule his last two years. We generally played 4 fairly easy teams non-conference. We never beat Oklahoma. We beat Nebraska twice in what were down years for the Huskers. IMO Bruce and Campbell both successful conservative coaches. Bruce‘s offenses scored less than Campbell’s.

The defensive holes on that team doesn't get enough light.

3rd and 12, 3rd and 15, 3rd and 9......didn't matter, our opponents could get it when they needed it. There must be a coach giving seminars on how to score on 3rd and long against the seminar passive defense.

Mods need to create a Melt Down thread and direct traffic to it today if we lose. We won't lose but that should be plan B.

Honestly yes I’m perfectly willing to watch more of Campbell teams and I’m willing to give the best coach at Iowa State in my lifetime a lot of leash.

If ISU doesn't give up a pick 6 and catches 7 flat drops last week we are celebrating another win over Iowa and feeling great about the ISU team. Not everything is perfect, and losing 4 offensive starters certainly hurt a lot, but things are probably going to get better as the season goes on.

True but Bruce also played in a very different where lower scores were the norms
