Right...........considering they averaged about 71 points per game each of the last two years and are averaging about 78 points a game this year. His teams at A&M averaged 70.6 points per game. So yeah, this 72 was way out of the norm for a team coached by him. :jimlad:

What did they average against GOOD teams (such as Iowa State this year)? Total average on the season includes all the cream puffs. Maryland's games against ncaa tourney teams from last year?

77 vs. Uconn
56 vs. Providence
60 vs Ohio State
75 vs. G. Washington
70 vs. NC Central
59 vs. Pitt
56 vs. NC State
79 vs. Pitt
63 vs Carolina
53 vs Virginia
67 vs Duke
55 vs Syracuse
69 vs Pitt

For a tidy average of 64.5 points a game against good teams. So for them to get 72 against Iowa State does seem to be pretty high for them. At least it seems high to me. I have watched a lot of Turgeon basketball with the ever-present "who would you want to replace Bill Self if KU needed to" conversations that happen on message boards and his brand of offensive basketball has typically been pretty unpleasant to watch from a fan perspective. Reminds me a lot of Doc Sadler; great defensive mind, offensive plan seems to be much more limited. Meh, just my opinion.

I doubt we fall out of the real polls, but it would be pretty hard for me to argue that right now we are one of the top 25 teams in the country. Do I think we will finish that way, absolutely. But we aren't there yet.

It would be nice to be ranked top 10 for most of the season but this team seems like it needs to play with a chip on its shoulder

My problem more has always been with treating teams the same-which will never happen with ISU compared to some teams. Why did we lose to a team rated in his Top 25 the previous week and drop out while UNC loses as bad to Butler( unranked last week) and they are still there? That's the BS with polls that I hate. But I would rather be under-rated at the season start than over-rated.
