Not to derail the fun here, but isn't this a recruiting violation to have him contact a recruit to switch to Iowa?

Technically probably so, but the number of recruiting violations on twitter may exceed 1 bajillion.

Agreed. I don't think he was violating the spirit of the rule, but I'm not sure I'd be too surprised if the NCAA got a bug up its *** and tried to enforce this definition of "booster".

Speaking of, if you follow ISU wrestler, he posted this awhile ago about current athletes:
Kyven Gadson ‏@ItsShowtime197 19 May This compliance issue making it it illegal for us to tweet the lil homies is stupid! Like we've know most of these kids long before the NCAA

Of course Hassel is an Iowa fan, he didn't go there.

But in reality, he was probably just trying to be funny.

This, and being a Tavernhok is keeping him from being a booster :twitcy:

And I doubt he's ever bought tickets himself.

For those wondering if he could be affected by upcoming layoffs, my opinion would be no. If ESPN is laying off to cut expenses, the highest expenses are going to be those that have been around for awhile. It is not like he works at a union shop where the last in are first to go. I'd have to assume he's still at the lower end of the food chain regards to salaries there, so he's probably comparatively cheap...and since he's good, I'd have to assume his position is pretty safe.

I can't believe I've never seen this before. That is awesome/hilarious.

I'm surprised Berman didn't tell everyone to just step back back back back back back back.
