Not exactly sure.
For whatever reason just watched the ISU-U of I match replay. It validated what I saw Sunday. There was such a discrepancy in strength and conditioning. The problem is systemic and the coach speak of CKJ is meaningless. I've emailed JP in the past and voiced a reasonable displeasure on the state of ISU wrestling and rec'd no response. Has anyone else emailed JP and rec'd a response?

I have emailed JP about a few questions and have received fairly prompt responses. I never call for a coach's head or demand anything. Most have been things that I think would help assist ISU Athletics in exposure or growth. I'm not one that emails every month, I have probably contacted him about five times in his ten years regarding athletic things. It's obvious that FB and MBB will receive the most attention, they pay for everything else.

Somebody posted about KJ kicking about half the team out of practice and many were non starters.

I was told today about (what seem to be the same incident), but a different version by a wrestler.

This version was many wrestlers were dinged up and not participating in practice and sitting along the edges and was making it difficult to hold practice, so KJ asked them to leave.

Maybe the wrestlers should ask KJ to leave so they can be productive

I think most people don't realize that as a HC in most sports, you're often more of a manager and CEO type than an on the ground type. As a head wrestling coach (club at D-I college), I would like to spend more time wrestling and less time doing paperwork and managing other crises.

That said, bold above is a huge red flag for me. If this is true, it may be tough for the wrestlers to buy in to the head coach. I'm surprised this post hasn't been discussed more in the thread.

How many practices do you suppose Tom Brands missed last week?

As a former athlete at ISU, I could count on 1 hand the number of times the HC wasn't at our workouts in my 4 seasons.

Makes sense to me, but I could also see how it could ruffle some feathers.

It did not sound like the healthy guys that could participate were asked leave.

But this is just another version or opinion

Sounds to me as an outsider there is a lot **** talking from individuals that are only ever going to be roll partners. Maybe if they (and probably some starters) spent less time acting like 4th grade girls and put the energy towards getting better fans wouldn't have to sit here argue one side or the other for our coach's job.

Edit: Wanted to add also got a similar story buf so who knows whats happening inside there.
