. . . K-State and Baylor got out of the Big 12 cellar because they found innovators. That’s what Iowa State needs right now. Easier said than done, I know, but here’s one guy Jamie Pollard should consider: Montana’s Bob Stitt.
To me, the fit is obvious. He’s an offensive wizard. He’s from the Midwest. He’d bring an exciting brand of football. He’d be exceptionally affordable (Stitt makes $175,000 a year right now). And if you can convince kids to play at Colorado School of Mines, you can probably sell Ames.
The Cyclones should have a bowl-caliber roster in 2016 with several exciting young pieces -- Mike Warren, Allen Lazard and Joel Lanning -- on offense. They just need that innovator.
