Espn says TBD for both KUvsISU and WVUvsTX again...

I wonder if they have actually decided but aren't announcing it yet, or if they mistakenly posted times and haven't made a decision.

Either way, if ISU and KU win out in their non-cons (which they both should easily) then I don't see how they could go with the other option.

Let's see....KU/ISU tickets are selling for $117, minimum. Tickets are available for WVU/UT for $23. How is this still a question???

I doubt KU or Texas lose again before the 17th. ISU and WV play each other on the 10th, so it might come down to the winner of that game.

Yeah, I wish we played them at Hilton for that game. WVU plays @TCU the week before hosting us, so that will be interesting to see if TCU is for real, as they will be 13-0 for that game. If TCU beats WVU and WVU turns around and beats us, I could still see ISU/KU getting Gameday. (Assuming KU and ISU win all other games)

This is going to depend on Duke. If they don't lose before Jan 17,Duke @ Louisville is Coach K's 1000th win game.
I bet they'll go there if that happens....

was discussed earlier, but since the game starts at 12:00 EST, gameday runs up until 12:00 EST - unless they tape the show earlier in the am or do it in a different site - they can't do that game.

I think (not 100% sure) that Jan. 17 is the only weekend that the Big 12 is in play for GameDay, which if so, would support what I posted earlier - that I heard from a good source ESPN has told the schools they have narrowed it down to two games for that date: KU-ISU or WVU-UT. So while Duke-Louisville certainly looks like it would be a tough one to top, I don't think they are even in the running.

The Chicago Young Alumni are planning an entire pre-game "tailgate" event around this game being at 8pm, so hope it works out. Wouldn't be hard if the game falls to 5 to move our event up to 2, but it's a tad less awesome. If the worst happens and we drop to noon, hope people are ready to drink at 9am.

(And if you live in Chicago and graduated within the last ~10 years, PM me for details!)

On 12/22, I am looking at the ESPN basketball schedule and January 17th has completely disapperead from their schedule, while all the other days are still there. Weird.

Only the WVU-UT and KU-ISU games are "TBD." One of them will be at 5:00pm and the other at 8:00pm, both on ESPN. You can tell by looking at the other ESPN games, which are scheduled for 11:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm already, that both of these would have to be late since ESPN is already set as their channel.

I am assuming that they will choose the better game for 8:00pm and that will also be the GameDay site as well.

Man, if I didn't like ESPN before... Can't imagine how much I'd hate them if they picked WVU-Texas over us for Gameday.

That is correct, and this has been ESPN's intention all along. No inisder knowledge, but it pretty obvious when those were the only two TBD games all along.

You have a 5PM game that will end around 7PM, have an hour worth of the night Gameday show, and then start the Gameday game at 8PM. This is how ESPN usually does it.
