Obviously it was a new experience for Sam, he either was not aware the crowd was cheering for him, or he's very shy - he didnt acknowledge the fans at all.

Yeah, at the very end there is NO WAY he didn't know we were cheering for him. Everybody was cheering for the rest of the team, then when he came trotting over our 2-3 sections just went bonkers. Was pretty sweet.

And 1-31 in their last 32 Big 12 games. They are very close to having been winless in the Big 12 for 4 seasons.

Holy crap. I knew they were on a 19 game conference losing streak going into Saturday, but I had no idea it was THAT bad. That would've made it even worse if we had managed to lose. I'm thinking that one win was probably against Colorado in 2010....? You know...the same year we lost to Colorado. Grumble.

If I remember correctly, the season that ch*z's team played @ KU, he 'personally' paid for the ISU band to make the trip.

I think he should have probably saved his cash. He's going to need it.

Good catch. We were the one before that. 10/10/2009

Yeah, I remember that one. That was KU's last win before they lost 7 straight to end the season and ultimately led to Mangino getting canned. I remember AA just barely overthrowing a wide open Darius Darks who would have had a TD to win the game.

Obama needs to take one out of JP's book on not supporting all things. It's amazing how the band supports itself thru creative means and limiting their expenditures while still thriving.

For those at the game, another funny moment was when Arceo had to use the porta potty. Was in there for quite awhile and when he came out got a standing ovation from ISU section. While running back to sideline (zipping up in the process) he let out a big grin. Maybe he was "relieved" or got a kick out of the ovation. Ha! Not sure I've seen a player use a public bathroom during a game before. Hilarious.

I know this is weird but the last couple home games I have caught arceo running over to the ports potties behind the band..

No.

I realize that a bunch of people dislike the band right now, but the fact is you don't have to be a jerk to members in the band. We a fans of the team, and we contribute to the atmosphere of the game. If you don't like a band in football, go watch NFL.

The thread was on CPR though, which got directed to the atmosphere from traveling fans, which got directed to not having a pep band. The thread did get derailed a bit.

I was just being sarcastic. I don't mind the band, just don't like every ******* thread about them. haha! Carry on.

I thought that was great too. Funny thing is that at the same time I think AJ thought we were making noise for a stop on defense. He was turned around at our section and was raising his arms up and down.

I've seen many players use the johnnys by the Jacobson building. Not sure how they fit in there with all the pads and **** on.

Go away. This thread was in no way political. Take your views to the cave if you absolutely must spew them.

Watching the post game interview, it seemed like Sam is a fairly shy guy or maybe just shellshocked from the whole experience. Seemed like a really laid back dude

lol I know Edwin and he does this all the time. I think he's done it every game. You can't miss it, there's a lone cyclone running as fast as he can back to the sidelines.

He kind of gave a little wave to us at the end... Was wondering if he was going to acknowledge us and he did... Just very fast and small.

I didnt catch the wave but i think he didnt want to get ahead of himself. Just do your job and hustle to meet the team. I liked it just fine- let cpr do the antics at this point.

Somewhat off topic, but several are talking of the "cyclone-power" chant. Remember a couple years ago when Jeff Johnson "taught" that to all pre-game and people were upset (true fans don't need prompting, etc)...now that tradition travels with us? Pretty cool...

Funny thing is. Jeff Johnson actually started one of the Cyclone Power chants at Lawrence on Saturday.

I think the Cyclone Power chant started at Basketball Games quite a while ago.
