Hands down my favorite, and for not only being critically acclaimed, but having been in a super popular band, he is strangely ignored by most people.

I heard this British rock historian say Brian Jones should have been in the Beatles and John Lennon should have been in the Rolling Stones.

Would have made for some good music (although obviously it was awesome as is). The Stones early music would have been much better since they developed as song writers later and the Beatles early music would have had blues influence earlier than they added it on their own. Despite the rivalry they were all quite friendly so it's an interesting what-if to think about.

Lennon's persona as the bitter, somewhat sensitive intellectual wouldn't have jived with the Jagger/Richards articulate depravity, IMO.
