Only reason i want Creighton to win would be because i picked them on my bracket. Otherwise i'm more than fine with them getting beat.

I gotta disagree here. The rift between DG and Brackins wasn't ever going to let a team with both players be successful.

That and there's no defense on that roster. Yikes.

Good coaches get guys to put their egos aside and play, much like we have seen with the team this season.

There is no Babb style lock down defender, but again, a good coach could have made DG, Gilstrap, and Dendy into good defenders.

Put it this way, what would Greg have been able to do with our current roster?

Moot.....due to the fact the roster would have jettisoned themselves during the season.

That was a team right there that Fred takes to the dance.

That team did have some good talent didn't it. I just don't remember it because they never actually PLAYED like a complete team. I wonder if Fred would have been able to get more out of them. It seems like all the guys on the team this year are really embracing their roles. Defensive stopper, shooter, point forward. Everyone who has played big minutes has stepped up a few times this year and led the team in scoring. Total team effort.

IcSyU, what specifically was the rift between the two? I have to admit I tuned out late in the season because I was so frustrated.

I could see Hoiberg puttin Brackins, or DG, or both on the bench if they weren't doing what they needed to do to help the team win.

At very least shouldntve been a team that finished near the bottom of the conference. Maybe not a tourney team, but at that point you can say 'GMac shouldve had at least one tourney team that many years in'

A good coach ould ahve at least gotten an NIT bid out of that team and built some momentum for the future.

I also see Fred keeping star players from transferring. The Wookie just seems like a jerk most of the time.

DG and Brackins just flat out didn't like each other. Both felt they should be the star of the team and off the court altercations pretty much solidified their hate of each other on the court.

And I don't think that team would have been tourney worthy. DG couldn't make a layup. Lucca was 1 dimensional. Brackins was very good. Hamilton was softer than butter. Christopherson had mono. Dendy was a great athlete but that was it. Colvin was cancer. Gilstrap was a great athlete. No ball handler, no one who could create their own shot, and very porous defense would have a .500 team at best IMO. As upperclassmen? EASY tournament team...but most of those guys were underclassmen and flat out weren't very good.

I think there next game could be ugly with the 2 Bigs NC has and how much Creighton depends on McDermott.

The Alabama coach out-tricked himself with the last time-out. They had the left baseline wide open in the first set with 4.7 seconds. Sometimes you just need to put it in the players hands and trust them to make a play.

McDoormat finally found a coach who blew it in a critical game. As someone pointed out today ... Jacobsen and Hoiberg each have tourney wins before McDoofus.

Bama got Asheville'd throughout the game today. The worse team won this game.

I honestly thought Bama got fouled on the last shot. Obviously, it's very rarely called, but the Creighton defender got a whole lot of wrist there.

Turns out, yes, the shooter absolutely got fouled. Wow.

The Mayor would have done better with this group IMO.
