I think attendance will be pretty good Saturday. However with the weather and the State Cross Country meet I do not think it will be completely full, which is very dissapointing considering this is the biggest game we've seen in a long time.
I’m going to the Iowa game instead, had to pay their athletic department 10,000 for the suite. Damn, I just don’t have enough money or time to go to the Iowa State game too. But I’m a great ISU fan.I'm choosing to make the road trip from Texas to see this game...that doesn't make me a better fan than someone who is listening to it in the cab while harvesting, or checking the updates while watching/coaching their kids game.
Life happens, priorities happen.
This is far from true. If we were expecting what we averaged in 1997, CMC wouldn’t be on the sidelines and you potentially wouldn’t be watching a Big 12 game. This is a tired conversation. Ive only heard it for the last 20 years. It hasn't mattered once. In regards to a coaches or teams overall success.
.
Jamie Pollard is a smart man. I'm sure there will be something sorted out.So many unsold seats. Could they just give most of the unsold tickets to high schools, elementary schools, after school programs,etc...just so we can have a full house for Saturday.

Pollard basically said on the radio yesterday that “if it sells out, it sells out”. It’s still likely going to be in the top 6 in attendance history at JTS. Not worried about selling out as much as you would think.Jamie Pollard is a smart man. I'm sure there will be something sorted out.

How you prioritize is exactly what makes you a fan, let alone a good/better fan. You’re the one associating a connotation to it. You don’t have to be a better fan. Some people shouldn’t be good fans as it means they’re neglecting other more important aspects of life. But the metric doesn’t change.

Based on what?
There were 54,000 sold as of Monday. I'd be interested to hear what that number is as of now.Didn't look today, but yesterday there were tons of tickets on Ticketmaster in the upper levels. Most sections had lots of rows left and a few of them had 3/4 of their tickets still available. Was a little surprised.
Nailed it. We went from being season ticket holders before kids and when they were younger, to making a few games a year, to being damn lucky if we'll make one this year. I listened to most of the OU game in my truck while finally getting caught up on errands because I hadn't been home a night all that week before because of meetings and kids activities.
I'd love to be there Saturday, but as someone else mentioned, the State XC meet is going on and my daughter's team qualified so that's where we'll be. I'm not bitter, and I'll enjoy freezing my ass off in Ft. Dodge watching them run. Life changes and so do your priorities. And anyone that scoffs at the notion that harvest doesn't have an effect on attendance doesn't really understand the concept of people's livelihoods having to come ahead of their entertainment.
That said, I hope those with the time and the means make the extra effort to get there and fill in for those of us that can't. This IS a huge deal for our football program and we need to show up. I predict there will be 56-58,000 butts in the seats.
I was also a season ticket holder before my kids got really active. Guess what? I will be again...it just won't be for about 7 more years. The lesson here again is take advantage during the times of your life you can get season tickets.
Why the F would you buy a suite for an Iowa game? I'd rather chop myself up with a chain saw.
No...I'm thinking he would actually use the chain saw than spend $10K on a Hok Suite. It is just one of those inconceivable acts.Guessing satire...
ReplyBuy just sent out text for $30 tickets in lower level section 23-25. I can't believe this game isn't sold out. It really pisses me off that it isn't. We can get 19k down to KC for basketball but we can't get 61k at home for a winnable top 5 team when we are ranked for the first time in 12 years after winning 11 games total the past 4 years?! Sorry, rant over.
